"They told us at our initial sit down that they would be sending a team out to our house to complete this install. The team was one person. Seemed like he would go in between different jobs along with ours. Only a few days were spent totally at our house. This is what dragged the install out. Nothing against the person that installed it the company needs to put more hands on deck. Had issues with stair steps breaking. Then they repair stair with warped board. Still currently waiting to get the stair corrected. We feel they were quick to take money but slow on fixing the issues. Photo attached is the warped board they placed on the stairs."

"Everything went very smoothly.  The installation was about a month out from when we placed our deposit.  50% of the total was due when we ordered everything and signed the paperwork.  Then the remainder was due when after the job was completed. <br /> The installers were very professional and cleaned up after themselves.  Our floors look great.  We won't hesitate to use them again. <br />"

"The experience was very good. The salespeople were very helpful and the service was very good. Installation was about $600. They were very professional and gave us the information we needed when we were shopping. The installers were very polite and worked very hard. It took the two installers 10 hours, but they worked the whole time. They did a good job. We compared the prices at other places and they were competitive."

"I needed carpet and vinyl flooring installed in a short period of time, which Empire Today was able to fulfill. I felt that I paid a premium for service on short notice, which I expected. The salesperson was a bit pushy and asked more than once, "do we have a deal?", which felt smarmy. On the day of installation, all went as planned until the vinyl installation was complete. The quarter round was not replaced. When I asked about it, the installer said that "it looks fine without it," which I disagreed with. He offered to put caulk down, which helped, but still did not look like a complete project. I did not like how he dismissed my request. I sent more than one email to Empire Today about this problem, but they did not follow up with me about this issue."

"I hired this company to remodel my kitchen after taking several estimates. They finished on time before the holidays as promised. They were very professional and the quality of work is amazing. They clean up the job site after every day and I was throughly impressed. I would definitely recommend this company to all my friends."

"The basement remodeling project went much slower than promised, and resulted in multiple change orders for the original scope of work to be delivered, due to missing items in the original estimate. Project was scheduled for 6 weeks, but took 6 months. Quality issues during construction were associated with drywall and carpeting. Drywall issues were fixed prior to project closeout, carpeting installation issues were not corrected. Remediation work was satisfactory. We discovered a leak in our sump line, which they repaired and applied spray on affected framing. We also had an issue with our previously installed ejector pump failing. They did a good job cleaning up the damaged carpeting, trim and drywall with minimal damage. We did not re-engage them for the finish repairs after the remediation."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in New-Point, IN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
