"I first called another roofer who never came inside to look at the stains or went up on the roof. That roofer said by visual inspection he could tell I did not need a new roof and his company only dealt with replacements. But, he hazarded a guess at what was wrong and said if anyone actually went up on the roof, it would cost around $800. I then called Farina who scheduled an estimate; they arrived on schedule. The gentleman came inside and took pictures of the stains. I received an estimate about a week later and was asked to agree to it or not by email. I agreed and about another week passed and they showed up at my house to do the work, again going inside first to look at where the stains were. The actual work took less than an hour-so far, so good. Assuming that the leak is fixed, the only thing that could have been better was if I was told beforehand when they would do the work, instead of their just showing up. Luckily, I was home."

"This started as a relatively small repair, complicated by some water damage over the years. Required replacing two sheets of plywood, ice and water barrier, shingles, removal and reinstall of the vinyl and fascia. Tar Star was upfront with their suspicions and analysed the situation correctly. As it turned out later, they were correct with their predictions. The root cause was improperly installed shingles in one section of the roof, which were cut too short, which caused the water and ice accumulating under, eventually making its way to the board and rotting it out. The job took one day overall, split up in two parts, Sunday and Monday. I provided part of the material (shingles). The actual cost was in the estimated range. Tar Star provided good recommendations, conducted the repair efficiently, without unnecessary work or upsell, focusing on quality, longevity, and cost efficiency. I know I will have to replace the roof at some point, probably when installing solar equipment. This bought me a few more years for my old roof, which is what I wanted. Overall, nice guys. "Hiring a contractor to do anything is always stressful. Hiring Caesar and his crew to roof my antique home which is on the Massachusetts Historic Register, was the right thing to do. Dealing with Caesar was amazing. He is a contractor that actually answers his phone, returns phone calls and texts immediately, etc. Additionally, when he said his crew would arrive at 7:00am, they actually arrived prior to the time they said they would and merely waited until 7:00am to begin work. Either Caesar himself or at least one supervisor was on the job site all day with the crew to not only make sure the job was moving along but also to answer any questions, etc. we might have had during the day. As our home was built in 1826, unfortunately they uncovered an unexpected area of decay/rot on one of my roofs. Not only did they explain the options to repair this damage, he had the necessary talented carpenters on his crew to repair the damage at a reasonable cost. Caesar was able to complete the job, on time, within budget (with appropriate adder for rot repair) all while leaving the job site very clean. It is rare I give anyone a recommendation; however, I would gladly give Caesar and his crew a top notch rating and I would not hesitate to use him again if the need arises. Larry - Andover, MA"
