"Our downstairs half-bathroom had an extremely old toilet - of the kind where the tank is bolted to the wall.  We had removed this old toilet and attempted to install a new one ourselves, but the existing flange was so old and in such poor repair that this proved impossible.  When our regular plumber proved to be unresponsive, I contacted Peabody Plumbing to do the work instead.  He responded promptly, came in to do the work at earliest convenience, and did the job quickly and well. <br />"

"All of the jobs came out excellent and he tagged all the lines he touched for future identification. The soldering connections were clean and smooth and the jobs were all done in a little over an hour. The pipes were secured with new hangers and no longer vibrate or move loosely. I was treated very professionally from the original estimate to job completion. It was a bit pricier than I expected but it was also a job well done."

"when tech showed up the dryer seemed to be working and heating however it did not when I called, seemed the heating element was cracked creating and off and on working condition. I went ahead to repair the problem by purchasing a new heating element. I was surprised however that the tech expected me to pay in full before he ordered the part and repaired the problem, but I did using my credit card knowing if there was a issue the credit card co. would have my back, The part was order and Alex fixed it as soon as it came in and was great"

"This project was one of a number of projects done for us by Mal Cichy Plumbing and Heating. We started having issues with pipes banging (water hammer). Mr Cichy, came out soon after we called, checked a number of things and told us he felt the problem was because of high water pressure. He told us the best solution would be to install a water pressure control valve in the main supply line. He explained that the valve would help reduce the banging and reduce the wear and tear on other valves like our washing machine. He gave us an estimate and we decided to go ahead. The work was done promptly and the valve did reduce most of the noise. But, there was still an occasional hammer when one toilet was flushed. We called Mr. Cichy to ask if there was any thing else we could do. He came right out to look at the problem. Discovered that the fill valve in the toilet was sticking. And replaced it no charge. That was the last of the banging pipes. <br /> <br /> We have been using Mal Cichy Plumbing and Heating for all our plumbing work. We started probably 20 years ago when on a Thanksgiving day, with a house full of people, our sewer line backed up. We called a number of plumbers. Mr. Cichy was the only one to reply. And he called back right away. He came right to the house and worked most of the morning (remember this was Thanksgiving day) to get some tree roots out of our sewer line. It was not a simple stick in the snake and break the clog. But, he stuck with it and got us back in working order. We had him come back later and replace a portion of the sewer line. He was so nice to work with we have been calling him ever since."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in North Amherst, MA

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
