"We needed electrical from our main box to an outside location, I was tempted to try and diy thing, but the more research I did the more I realized how over my head all the electrical stuff can get. The work was done quick and efficiently- and Jesse was very cool with all my questions. I’d definitely work with Argentum again and highly recommend them to anyone looking to have electrical work done"

"We run a ranch in Ellensburg with plenty of old infrastructure. Jed has helped us numerous times in bringing outdated electrical wiring up to modern specs. In one case, he rewired our heated chicken coops from old glass fuses that were installed in the 1950s to modern breaker panels. Jed and Carley together offer exceptional customer service and quality work while being responsive and honest. We'll be using them again! Great family business. Highly recommend."

Small jobs welcome

"Rock Electric was great. We had electricity brought to a new shop in our backyard. The Rock people were on time, they stayed in touch while we were scheduling and rescheduling. The initial visit went well and all the little details were worked out in a straightforward manner. No issues when we requested the work be permitted either. They were accommodating and professional When there was a question about the trench we dug that we thought met specs they reached out immediately and made sure they were ok to proceed. The job was done quickly and the permitting inspection was also done at the same time. Great customer service. They did a fine job of staying in touch for time frames. After initially speaking with some other outfits that never got back to us or did not show or call for their scheduled appts it was refreshing to work with a group with conscientious, communicative, customer oriented people. We would definitely hire them again if a project comes up. Thanks guys."

"Ian McDonald did a very thorough job of inspecting the panel and the run to the charger location. His explanations were easy to understand and covered both the immediate need as well as long term needs. Unfortunately, the quoted price was beyond our budget and we ended up going with a smaller shop without as much overhead."

Customers say: Quality work

"we recently moved into this older manufactured home and wanted to make sure the electric issues were up to code. All was well until they found a loose wire in a light fixture. A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD! It was easily fixed but we were so grateful we had them come in and check everything! Andy and Chris were very friendly and professional. Bill, the owner, was helpful and answered all questions. We would highly recommend this company!"

"Fantastic. As you Wish called me literally within 5 minutes of my request for quote. We requested minimizing trips to our house given our situation and Sean was kind enough to do all of that via Facetime and provide an immediate quote. During this process, I learned I was looking at the wrong panel and later I figured out I didn't need the upgrade. Sean was equally gracious. I would hire them again when I need any electrical work based on the positive experience."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in North Bend, WA

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
