"We hired Josiah with Gate Technologies to install a custom single swing gate for our driveway at home. He was able to take our vision, and design and build exactly what we wanted. He did all the fabrication and installation, and addressed our questions and concerns very professionally along the way, without questioning. In the world of custom gate installations, it's important to learn patience, as all providers in this space have long lead times in being able to get started. But once we were next in line, Josiah got cranking and got us an absolutely beautiful gate that works just as we envisioned. Just recently, I reached out to Josiah, as the gate electronics suddenly stopped responding. He replied within minutes and helped me do a simple reset, and it is working perfectly again. "We expected work to begin on the project in April, but he did not end up starting until the beginning of May. He projected that the job would take about one month, but when he started he informed us that he did not have a crew and he was doing the work all himself so we figured it could take a bit longer than that. The timeline wasn't a huge concern for us so we did not push him on that too much. By the end of May our front deck was done and we loved it. It was just what we wanted. Things were taking longer than expected, but there was steady progress and we were happy with the work being done. The progress was steady until the end of July when Dan stopped showing up. He also stopped responding to calls, emails, or text messages for one full week. At that point we had paid him significantly more than the amount of work he had completed. At this time the back decks and stairs were started but had no railing. This was concerning for a lot of reasons, but mostly a huge safety concern. We have small children and a dog that have access to that area of our yard. We started to consider taking legal action. Then Dan got in contact with us again. He explained that he had a lot of personal things going on, he was struggling financially, and he was embarrassed to come clean with us. He told us that he would get the railing ordered and finished the job as we agreed. We were skeptical and lost trust, so we met with him in person to all sign a detailed paper contract which lined out the timeline expectations, future payments, and expectation about communication regarding the progress of the deck. After that communication returned to the way that it was at the beginning of the project, we were hearing from him regularly and seeing steady progress aside from a number of hang ups due to ordering and manufacturing of materials. The job was eventually completed by the end of September. In total the job took 4.5 months from start of demo. This was a very frustrating project for us. However, the finished product is beautiful and exactly what we were hoping for. Dan is talented and does great work although his communication and honesty leaves a lot to be desired. We should also note that although Dan finished the project and gave us what we wanted, he continually over-promised throughout the project. At the end of the project he offered several things like deck chairs or comped items to try and compensate but he never came through. For the last two months we have tried to contact him about these things and with other questions about warranties, but we have heard nothing back from him. His work is very high quality, and the price was very competitive. He did throw in some discounts to compensate for the communication issues and I believe we got a great deck for a fair price. But, we still haven't heard from him, and although the things he promised are really just extra, I do have some questions about how the Trex warranties work. I guess I'll figure that out on my own. I would probably not hire him again, but if I did (and what I suggest to anyone that does), is to have him sign a very detailed contract for the work and do not pay him advances unless you can help it. Basically, cover your hind. I believe he is a decent person, but if he can't deliver he might just cut his losses, dissappear and move to another job. That's judging from our experience and a few other reviews."

"Wonderful. Another contractor had botched some of my work and left abruptly. James Ferguson of Class Act Carpentry stepped in and installed my siding, with a vapor barrier, new windows and trim with exceptional workmanship. Everything was level and straight and well placed. He communicated well with me. He worked quickly and efficiently and was on time every day. He kept my home clean of his materials. He did the interior trim(casement around the windows, trim around the windows and floor trim after flooring had been laid. All was caulked very nice and clean. Everything was straight and level. He explained what he was doing. The blinds measurement guy said how wonderful the casement of the windows job was in that every window was absolutely square and level and there were 10 windows. The building of the deck stairs is ongoing at the moment but I am sure I will equally pleased with that work."

"They were prompt and meticulous with the concrete work, which looked great. They convinced me that I should also seal the concrete pad and tint it to mitigate the harsh whiteness of the concrete. I decided to take a chance on this and was absolutely delighted with the results. With the tinting, the pad blended in much better with the vegetation, and it added to the curb appeal of the house, which we were planning to put on the market. The tinting was well worth the extra cost. They also recommended tinting the new concrete, and the results were equally good. My lesson is that ANB will try to sell extra services, but their recommendations are thoughtful and worth considering.

"Matthew spent considerable time discussing the job with us prior to bidding, and gave us a thorough and well-thought-through bid. He kept us informed during the job when there would be weather delays and let us know when to expect the crew. The crew worked very diligently each day on-site. There was no goofing around or disappearing during the day. They readily complied with our requests regarding detailed portions of the job. The south-facing façade of our home was very weathered with poor paint adhesion and required a lot of prep to bring it back to life. We are very pleased with the final result."
