"Wow! Unbelievable! If we ever have a water problem again, Pioneer will be the only waterproofing company that we call. We were getting some water in our basement which has a stack-stone foundation and radiant floor heating. We interviewed three companies and were particularly concerned about a solution that would stop the water without compromising the radiant tubes that were in the floor. Initially, Pioneer recommended a baseboard system that would run along the outside of the wall. Upon inspection, Mike Oliveira discussed a traditional drain to sump pump solution. We reiterated our concern about puncturing a tube in the floor and Mike assured us that he and his team would hand chisel potential problem areas to avoid the tubing. Moreover, this solution would save us roughly $2K and give us a lifetime guarantee vs. a 25 year guarantee on the baseboard system. The team showed up on time, cleared a 50' span of concrete by Noon, uncovered two sections of radiant tubing without puncturing the line, installed the moisture barrier, sump pump and new concrete by 4 p.m. They had to drill through a hefty header board to connect the pump line to an existing drainage line that carries water away from home and that was completed by 5:30 p.m. Mike came back in a week and we tested the fix using free-flow from our sprinkler system -- it worked perfectly. Subsequently we've had some consistent spring rain and absolutely no water in the basement. "I cannot speak highly enough of Tom and Brad Green of Colonial Restorations. We have lived in our antique house for 16 years now, and like most old homes, some of its previous repairs were good, some not so good. Tom Green worked on this house for its previous owners, and his work was, by far, the best in the house. So, we continued to use Colonial - Tom, then Tom and Brad - as we learned the ropes about caring for an old house - our first house, old or new. Over the years, they have replaced sills and posts and beams, and rebuilt parts of our loose stone foundation. Most recently, they replaced the last original posts in our basement, (one of which was a tree trunk still with bark on it), including pouring new custom footings, in advance of our finally cementing the dirt floor. "My experience with Real Dry was exceptional throughout the whole process. Last year, we were getting water in our basement whenever there was a heavy rain. Steve came and assessed the situation, and recommended digging wells around our basement windows and door and filling them with gravel for better drainage straight down (rather than toward the house/windows). We initially talked about also digging a well in the front of the house, where water would pool due to our lack of gutters and then come in through the foundation. So the initial estimate included all of that. When Steve arrived on the actual day with his crew, I told him that I didn't think we needed to have a well in the front of the house because I was planning on getting gutters and that should take care of that. He adjusted the estimate accordingly with absolutely no hassle. The work itself was done quickly and professionally and the basement has been bone dry ever since, despite some incredibly heavy rain.
