"We have had Phelan Construction do numerous house improvements for us over the years. Most recently it involved wood gutter repair, wood steps, railing, hanging screen doors, soffit and fascia repair, and painting. Previously Bob replaced siding on a large area of our house with new cedar siding. We have always been more than happy with Bob's work ethic, quality of work and overall pleasantness."

"The project went extremely well. Gaby is a consummate craftsman and finish carpenter. As someone who built custom furniture in my early days, I am very familiar with woodworking and can immediately distinguish between good, quality work and Excellent craftsmanship. Gaby fits the latter! He does all the work himself and takes incredible pride in the quality of his work. He built out the shelving in our pantry and when completed, there was an issue with the height of each of the shelves. When I brought the issue to his attention, Gaby apologized profusely and was back at my house within 48 hours to remedy the situation. This is a situation where you get what you pay for! His pricing was a bit high but fair as custom-built cabinets go. The difference is justified in the quality of materials he uses and the attention to every little detail during installation. During COVID, we paid 50% up front so he could purchase the materials right away as the cost of aLL MATERIALS CONTINUED TO SOAR. Gaby is honest, friendly, highly skilled and fin to work with. The only criticism I have is every decision made and agreement made was on a handshake (Old-school). There was not a formal quote or any paperwork other than the drawings from our designer that I provided. He gave me a range on price and of course, when the work was done, it was the higher of the range. We had initially planned for 2 pantries built by Gaby but ended up only needing shelves in a modified pantry that had already existed which my builder had modified. There were no adjustments in his verbal quote or final price. I had wished at the time that it was in writing. Good communication. Always on time and said what he would do and did what he said! "It went great. I have been looking for a trustworthy, local handyman based in central MA, as I have several projects I'd like to complete in the next couple of years. I started with the relatively simple job of installing an interior handrail in my stairway, and I found Nick's name on this list. During Nick's initial visit, we also discussed larger projects I'd like to have done in the near future. He had great ideas, understood what I was looking for, and sent me detailed estimates for the work I'd like to have done. His estimates were more than fair based on others I've seen (or, more often, those who don't bother to respond because they don't want to bother with small jobs like mine). Nick called today because he and his assistant had a gap in their schedule and I took them up on their offer to come three days before our scheduled appointment. They installed the railing in about an hour and it looks great. I look forward to working with Nick and his crew for future projects - no need to look further!"

Begin immediately responded. We chose Jim for the competitive estimate he submitted and after speaking with him when I learned about his knowledge and experience. He came to take measurements and order the new window and miscellaneous supplies. Once the window was in he scheduled the work. His work was impeccable. The window is in perfectly, it is perfectly insulated and the surrounding wood was replaced. I am very pleased with the complete job and highly recommend Jim to you."

Patrick was very detail oriented and ensured all steps are followed in the process to get the best out come with clean looking finish. "I wasn't going to be home but when he said he was coming that day and that was completely fine. He was very nice and removed the branch that I needed removed and cut the branch up so we could give it to my daughter-in-law for firewood. He also seemed to have removed another branch that might have been dead. He was a kind man and I would highly recommend."

Day 1 of the job, Brandon calls to let us know that we do not need to do the work as he took the time and effort to get other opinions on the installation of a beam. Again, character. He could have easily installed, but he took the time to do right by his customer and that, in our experience, is essentially unheard of. "Fantastic. Anything unexpected was dealt with thoughtful and thorough consideration. I had very particular requests needed in the remodel and Mike Tran worked through every detail with me in a professional manner, even if my requests were a bit particular. He did a wonderful job slightly tinting my new floor in the kitchen to match the rest of the floor. My basement flooring needed a large patch replaced and he did that right away and tinted that beautifully as well. In addition, his crew were always efficient, considerate, and polite. George identified the problem quickly and resolved. After resolving this issue George adjusted my springs for more balanced tension, replaced the metal rollers with quieter nylon rollers, and lubricated both doors.
