"Our carpet is only 4 years old, but had many lumps. The original carpet installer came and said it couldn't be fixed. Wagner came out and fixed them and they did a great job. Very pleased and happy with their service. When it's time to replace the carpet, I'll be calling Wagner."

"I wanted a cost effective cure to a stained carpet in my den.  I went to the Stafford showroom and encountered very kind and helpful staff.  They spent a leisurely time with me looking at options - no hard sell.  They were very helpful and answered all questions.  They found just what I needed - something that they had to work to find.  I asked about rug cleaning - that is something they do not do, but they  made a recommendation and took the time to make a copy of all the information I needed.  The installer came right on time - he was visited by the owner of the company to check his work while he was there - they took away all of the old carpet and pad - they did not just leave it on the curb - they were efficient and did a great job cleaning up.  I could not have been more satisfied. <br />"

"Every step of the process was good. Oz was very helpful in guiding my selection of the wood and came to the job site every day to check on progress. He even gave me a tip on a less expensive vendor to move my furniture before and after the project. The workers were professional and industrious. Despite the amount of dust generated during the removal and installation, my home was left amazingly dust free when they finished. My floors are beautiful and I am very satisfied. Would not hesitate to recommend Hardwood Outlet to others."

"Outstanding installers. Accurate room measurements. Timely availability. I cannot beat their prices anywhere in Rochester. It is a relatively modest size operation family owned and managed. You will not get the level of service when choosing your carpet that you would get at Christie's Carpets or other high service level stores. You won't have the huge Christian Flooring showrooms. But the Christies price for this 35 yd purchase was going to be at least $600 - $700 higher. Shop around first, get your prices on specific carpet yarns, face weight, wearability etc. info. Then go to Quality Carpet last. They carry all the major brands. They have far less overhead. It is not in a bad area. Almost at the corner of Carter St. and Norton St. Easy parking. You will save a lot of $."

"The first vanity arrived with a scratched top which they replaced without a problem. The installer removed the existing toilet and vanity so I could paint, and were very accommodating to my need to repair existing wall damage prior to the installation. Their communication was excellent and I was very pleased with the quality of the work the installer did."

"Our experience with Pro Carpet was positive from our initial showroom visit until the carpet installation was complete and they drove away. We had carpet replaced in two bedrooms. They arrived on time for both the estimate and for the installation. Before leaving the installer took a few minutes to explain the type of carpet weave and what to do if something snags the yarn. This was the first phase of our plan to replace carpet throughout our house, and we will definitely be going back to Pro Carpet. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in North-Greece, NY

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
