"It was amazing! We found out about this company via the internet. While in town we stopped by the showroom where we met Shameka. She is extremely knowledgeable and organized. We selected the carpet and set the free appointment for an accurate measurement of the rooms to be carpeted. We had to coordinate this endeavor from out of state and around other subcontractors. Shameka and the others made this a seamless process. When the installers came out, the unbelievable happened, in one day they moved the furniture, removed the old carpet and padding then installed the new carpet all the same day. Replaced the furniture, cleaned up the minimal mess and left our house better than they found it. Would we recommend this company? Absolutely! Thank you Williams Carpet!"

"Found Bob's service using Angie's List. Noticed the nice write-ups so decided to use him to repair our carpet. <br /> <br /> One of my cats sneaked into the master closet. The door got closed while she was inside. She panicked and clawed to get out. In her escape efforts, she pulled the carpet out of the tack strip and shredded the edges of the carpet. The repair was not something I could do myself. <br /> <br /> I contacted Bob, explaining the situation. Bob stated he did those sorts of repairs and scheduled an appointment. <br /> Bob was punctual and professional. He also provided some tips on helping to avoid this situation in the future. He has seen this happen before. Within a few minutes, Bob had the carpet repaired to my satisfaction. To an prospective buyer, they would never know the carpet had been repaired. Great Job!!! Bob worked quickly and was very thorough. <br /> <br /> Bob is now in my reference list for future work and is also a name that I am confident in providing to any one needing carpet repair. <br />"

"Williams Carpet was one of a few flooring providers that we contacted about installing hardwood floors throughout most of our home. We went to their store near Ocean Isle Beach, NC and met Ricky who helped us find the kind of flooring we wanted. Ricky was both friendly and professional. He came to our house, measured the rooms, and drew a schematic before going back to his office to work up a quote. Within a few hours Ricky called with the price which seemed very reasonable. (We had another provider that gave us a quote, then lowered it two times when we flinched and their third price was still higher than Williams Carpet! We are not fans of the "let's see if they'll pay an outrageous price then lower it if we have to" maneuver.) After accepting the Williams quote, we talked to Mary in their office regarding scheduling the work and payment. Mary was also very pleasant and professional. Our installation team was led by Bill French who was assisted by Roger and Britain. These three guys did a FANTASTIC job and went above and beyond the call of duty! They were always polite, took pride in their craft, paid attention to detail, and really cared about providing us with a stunning new floor - which they did. We had high expectations about this project, but Williams Carpet along with Bill French and his team exceeded those expectations. We highly recommend both Williams Carpet and Bill French. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in North Myrtle Beach, SC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
