"The owner arrived as promised.  Professional, patient, and answered every question we had.  Very cautious about safety.  He did not damage any property.  The trees took longer than expected to remove do to their locations and size.  He returned the next day to complete the job.  We did the clean up and he returned a third time to cut some additional logs into firewood size at no additional charge.  Highly recommend. <br />"

"Absolutely awesome company. I have used them multiple times. I request the same tech. He is so great, and can explain things in layman terms to me. This time I bought the incorrect outdoor light, he went and got one. Its not cheap for a visit, but their are the best to hire!"

"We were very happy with the choice of flowers, grasses etc around our pool. We wanted privacy but beauty and Dennis achieved that for us. We also requested wood panels to fit in with our rustic look to add more privacy and were very happy with the look and privacy they provided. I loved how Dennis listened to what we were wanting and worked hard to achieve it for us. They were all very professional and once the job was started they got it finished quickly. It has been a year since they did the work, I love how the grasses have filled out and the flowers bloomed beautifully. We achieved the look I was after .... I would highly recommend this company!"

"Becky does not clean homes that are 2500 square feet. I wish her ad stated that she does not do larger homes, as I spent time writing requirements. The requirements I provided in my email were: The house is about 2500 sq. feet; however, all of that would not be cleaned. For example, there is a room, off the dining room, that is an office that would not be cleaned. None of the closets would be cleaned. What would be cleaned would include: Downstairs: • ½ bath • Dining room • Kitchen • Living room • Stairs with glass panels (rather than spindles, the stairs have several glass windows) • Vacuum small laundry room Upstairs: • Loft living room • Hall way • 2 full bathrooms • 2 bedrooms • 2 sitting rooms (1 large; 1 small) Cleaning would include: • Vacuuming (including wooden stairs) • Dusting (including lampshades) (excluded are a couple open bookcases that contain collectibles—they wouldn’t be dusted as I take care of those) • Mopping floors: kitchen and 2 ½ baths • Wiping window sills • Blinds (at least every other month if not monthly)—dusting is fine, but occasionally, they need a damp cloth cleaning • Sinks (4 in the bathrooms; 1 in kitchen) • Bathroom counters • Kitchen counter tops • Toilets (3) • Baseboards • Picture frames • Stove and hood • Wipe cabinets in kitchen and 2 ½ baths with damp cloth • Vacuuming chairs/couches (7 chairs; 5 couches) • 1 sliding glass door in kitchen (inside only) Also, we have one very friendly cocker spaniel and one cat. I would prefer a monthly visit, but possibly every 3 weeks; maybe 2. In the Spring and Fall, I would like a deep cleaning of the house. The Spring and Fall cleaning would not include windows or carpeting as I hire this out to companies that specialize in these services."

"Excellent. Scott Levy is a great designer, and we love the results, including backyard patio/kitchen and all trees/shrubs/flowers and sidewalk/patio stone designs. We also appreciate a multi-year relationship of their quarterly maintenance of our landscaping so that it stays in top condition. A good, honest company that is responsive and always helpful. Our neighbors have hired them too based on our recommendation (or good looking landscaping) and they are happy as well."

"Seeing these projects go from pencil and paper, to the different stages of construction was an exciting thing to witness. I had full faith in these guys from the very beginning given their level of expertise, knowledge of the different facets of construction, and personal touch. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for handyman projects all the way to full size renovations!! Thanks so much for the value you added to my home! Can’t wait for the appraisal to come back in a year to see what you added to the selling price!"

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in North Salem, IN

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
