They actually hung some paintings for us because we have like a two-story wall.  We live in a raised ranch, so there?s a big wall that goes from the ground level up to the ceiling of the first floor, along the stairwell, and I wanted a painting hung up at the top of that wall.  And so I called Tom and said well who do you know that can do this and he said well we do that.  I said okay.  So he sent a couple of guys out, not only did they hang the painting, they re-hung paintings that were kind of crooked.  They just took care of hanging things that required going up a ladder, like a two floor ladder, a two-story ladder.  What they did was up a scaffolding and just did it that way, which is not something that a homeowner can do.  I just keep going back to LOPCO for everything.

"Colonial Restorations was superb.   Our family very much enjoyed working with Brad Green and Tom Green.  

At the outset, they made thorough assessments of our family's barn, identifying several problem areas and offering multiple proposals for how best to address each (including strategies and estimates).  They walked through the different proposals with us, addressing all questions and discussing different options.  This was extremely constructive and important to the process. 

They demonstrated very clear understanding of post-and-beam wood construction.  They displayed great expertise in working with wood (white oak, red oak, hemlock) and with the tools, jacks and cribbing needed for this work.  They worked carefully, always putting in place the necessary jacks and cribbing in advance of each phase of this project.

They were clear about their schedule and were very responsible about communicating with us.  If there were a day that they would not be on site, they let us know ahead of time.  With the exception of a snow storm and an illness, they were on site five days a week from the first week in January till the second week in February, 2016.  

By the completion of this project, Colonial Restorations had made significant and important structural repairs to our barn.  This work was done with care, craft, accuracy, and to code.  (All elements of this project were examined and passed by the building inspector.)  Most important, these repairs respected and worked with the existing structure and materials of the barn.

"I had Distinctive Painting paint to entire upstairs of my home. The job consist of all the ceilings, walls, trim, doors, baseboard and minor dry wall repair. Mario did a fantastic job on the trim, I was surprised he could paint that close to our hardwood floors and carpets without touching any of them. He correct all the cracks and repaired all screw holes in the drywall and the walls and ceiling looks great. The price was comparable to other quotes that I got. "Excellent, I would recommend for his craftsmanship. Read fine print in contract, any problems that come up are homeowner's responsibility and expense. Never told us sprinkler would need to be cut & moved when he bid the project, instead left it hanging (literally). We had to get a crew out to fix it and the landscaping around the new patio which got trashed in the process of bringing in the concrete. Not exactly a turn-key project -- you have to invest in landscaping which can take alot of time and money after. Live and learn -- but Kevin's work is excellent and reasonably priced compared to other quotes we got. I would definitely recommend -- esp a year later with the grass grown back and the sprinklers fixed. We have a beautiful patio that increased our property value quite a bit. Thanks Kevin!!"
