"I highly recommend Key Waterproofing. I have a main basement and a small storage basement. Both flood every time it rains. Our drainage was not working and we called Key Waterproofing. Ed and Wendell along with their team were fantastic. The job was finished within the timeframe we were given and the price was very good compared to their competitors. Overall we are very happy with the results."

"It went well. They are being professional in their follow-up as they are trying to have us install an expensive basement drainage/pumping system. We haven't decided yet, as it will be part of our basement gut/rehab project."

"I had done some research on waterproofing our basement back in 2015 which is when I first met Jason at Drycrete. The cost of a French drain is never cheap and we decided to wait and hold off. Compared to any of the other 3 companies we looked at Jason was the only one who was not a sleazy sales guy just trying to get a sale. He is the owner is actually there on the job with his crew getting the work done which is what we want to see. We want to have the owner there inspecting the work before the concrete goes in. Jason is very knowledgeable and advised us that he can put in just a sump pump but can see that it wouldn't alleviate the water issue. Matter of fact coming back later to attach a French drain would make it more expensive. He was willing to go either way but the fact that there was no pressuring on his part was really reassuring. He and his team came out for half a day one day to start the job and were very clean and courteous of our brick patio ensuring that no cement or residue stains were left behind. He explained how the french drain works and how to monitor its output. One thing which was great was the fact that it was raining quite a bit in the days prior to the install so we were able to see the pump at work. In addition the pump that Jason installed monitors the output daily and if it ever kicks in to the back up battery. So far we are very pleased! I haven't seen any water come into the house and hopefully this will allow us to get our basement done soon"

"I was more than pleased with their service! When I placed the call at 8am, I could have had them in one hour! I chose noon, and at exactly noon they arrived. Within a half hour the drain was running smoothly! The technician was, pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient! The cherry on the cake was the $179.00 bill vs $585 from Roto Rooter 2 months before! I’ll definitely keep this company handy for future needs!"

"We had an issue where our existing gutters were allowing rain to get behind them. In addition, we had some minor repairs that needed to be done. The team from Alo was prompt to provide a quote and explain how all the issues needed to be resolved. We also asked that a new length of gutter be installed along one side of our house. The crew showed up on time, examined the job, and detailed the plan of action. The work was then done and shown to us for inspection. Everything was done perfectly and professional, and the site was left cleaner than it was when they arrived. Everyone on the crew was amazing and nice and professional. Everything you could ask for. Oh, and the price was very fair."

"Excellent service. I now feel secure knowing that my sump pump will go on if the power goes off. Unfortunately, I didn’t install the battery backup before the March storms. After Global had done several jobs for me in the past, I thought I was finally going to live without water in my basement but Mother Nature had other ideas. Luckily Bob came to my rescue rather quickly after the flooding. Now I KNOW I’ll be water-free. Bob has never tried to pressure me into buying something I don’t need or can’t afford but I wish I had bought the battery years ago when he first told me about it. I won’t make that mistake again. Cost-wise, Bob will break down the requested work into separate jobs and estimate each so I can make a decision if I can afford all of the work or only some of it. I don't think I've ever worked with a service provider who either answers his phone immediately or calls back promptly. Bob has always kept our appointments, except once when another customer had an emergency. He said he was willing to come over later after hours if I needed him that day. We set up another day for my job, as rescheduling was not a problem for me. I really appreciated that he didn't leave me hanging by not showing up or not calling, like a lot of service providers do. Bob cares about his customers and I’m happy to recommend him and his company."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in North-uxbridge, MA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
