"We can not speak highly enough about our experience with Don Lorenc Construction. He and his crew are incredibly professional and clearly experts in their field. Everyone who works with Don is in-house, so he is able to complete work in the projected time period. They are immediately responsive to every question and request. From the initial planning to the final construction, they guided us and walked us through every step. The final product is beautiful and exactly what we had hoped for. Working with Don was a pleasure, and we highly recommend Don Lorenc Construcrion for your next project."

"We are very happy with transformation from the original 70 yr. old kitchen. It's like night and day. Customer service is great with prompt responses and respectful to any concerns or questions. The tradesmen were on time and detail oriented. The quality was excellent. We would call Rob again for future projects. He made some good suggestions as well as the tradesmen."

"The quality of work is fantastic, and Marek is the best project manager you could ask for. The reason I removed one star is because I believe the quoted contract price, specifically for allowances, can improve. You should expect to add a minimum of $20,000 to your contract price. I also recommend referring to your contract throughout to ensure you aren’t getting an extra charge for something that should be included. Like I said, the quality of work is fantastic, but the up front pricing can improve."

"Our Highland Park basement remodel included a gym, full bathroom, guest bedroom, and media area. There were a lot of moving parts, but the project was under control from start to finish. The quality of the work shows, especially in the details. It feels like a high-end space, not just a finished basement."

FAQs for addition to existing structure building service projects in Oak Lawn, IL

You can typically raise your roof by four to eight feet, depending on your home's structure and roof design. The exact amount depends on factors like roof slope and framing support. Raising the roof creates additional interior space, enhances natural light, and increases your home's value. Consult a professional to determine the feasible height increase for your home.

Yes, you need a building permit to raise your roof. Obtaining a building permit ensures your project complies with local building codes and safety regulations. A professional contractor can assist with the permit and inspection process and ensure all legal and safety requirements are met. Your contractor will be familiar with building codes in your area, which can differ between cities or states.

While it's possible to raise a flat roof, it requires extensive structural modifications. Flat roofs lack the attic space and support structures of pitched roofs, so raising them involves significant engineering to ensure safety and durability. This process can be complex and costly, so professional assessment is essential before undertaking a project of this magnitude.
