"We had an excellent experience with Modern Plumbing, run by Mike and his wife. Mike was friendly, knowledgeable, and explained everything clearly. His estimate showed expertise and attention to detail, and he recommended a higher-end model than others. Supporting a local business was important to us. During installation, Mike detected a faint gas smell, traced it to a nail puncturing our gas line—a slow leak for ten years. He safely repaired it, thanks to his gas line certification. Now our home is safe, and we have a great new water heater. We trust Modern Plumbing and highly recommend them."

"5 Stone got to us quickly to restore our water heater before the pipes could freeze in frigid weather. Much appreciated!"

"G & E Plumbing was an absolute lifesaver. Our previous plumber left the job in terrible shape, with a mountain of work left to do and plenty that had to be redone. Gerardo, the owner, came out and did the work himself. He rectified problem after problem, from toilet flanges to two improvised P-traps with AAV vents under sinks caused by rough-in installed in the wrong place. His problem-solving got us to code and through inspection on the first pass. His communication is excellent. He shows up on time and works fast. This is the guy you want on speed dial, whether it's an emergency repair or rough-in and finish trim done properly. No cutting corners. I know this because he came in specifically to fix the work of someone who did. He caught issues I had no idea about, and he knows the code inside and out. He's friendly, kind, and he'll travel. We're in Asheville, NC (Buncombe County). Best plumbing experience I've ever had, hands down. Gerardo and G & E will be our plumbers for life."

"Did a great job fixing my blocked sewer line. Fixed it in a one day time frame."

"Mike was polite, friendly, and professional. He quickly discovered the problem and explained the repair options. The repair was completed quickly. I was pleased with the service."

"Mr. Ashby was patient and talked us through every single option that would fit our needs and our budget. We truly felt taken care of and prioritized as a 1st time customer. Our new water heater was installed the same day! THANK YOU!"

Based on the favorable reviews of other members, I called three providers at noon. Unlike the other two, owner Scott Martin returned my call within 20 minutes even, as I learned later, he was away on vacation. I explained my heater had burst and needed quick replacement. I brought up the possibility of installing a tankless heater. He asked about my household make-up and usage, and advised the extra expense would not be cost-effective. He is a Rennai Tankless dealer/installer! He said he might be able to get a technician available in 2 hours and would call me right back. He did, and we arranged for a 4 pm installation.

His tech, Michael called 15 minutes beforehand reporting a traffic delay and he arrived soon after 4. He was very professional and, working alone,  completed the removal and replacement by 7. He checked the connections, discovered a small leak, and fixed that. We had hot water that evening. Scott did not charge extra for an emergency call that ran over into the evening; and, he applied an additional discount for my having found him through Angie's List!

The next day I discovered another small leak, called Scott and Michael was there and had it fixed by 1 pm.

I can't thank Scott and Michael enough for their responsiveness and professionalism. THAT'S how to run...and grow... a business!
