"We had the vinyl flooring replaced in our kitchen and laundry room with premium vinyl for an approx. cost of $3500. Overall, the experience was good and we are satisfied with the results. This is due to the professional office staff and the expertise and attention to detail of one employee that came the second day. He made the effort to get things right even if it took more time, I am glad he did most of the kitchen floor. On the down-side, the required 1/4" underlayment ended up raising the floor so that transition strips between the vinyl and the hardwood floors are at an angle (one has already cracked). Also, when they left, the door to the garage would only open about 1/2 way before hitting the floor and rubbing (I ended up removing and replacing the door sweep). The hallway door was the same, but they could cut that shorter. The estimate included new shoe molding but failed to take into account that I had about 10' of oak-colored molding so they had to re-use the old stuff (one guy even wanted to re-use the old white molding in the laundry room, he said all it needed was repainted). As a detail item, I would suggest that a touch of white paint on the exposed cut surfaces of molding would finish it right. The office staff was very helpful, they quickly emailed an estimate, responded to questions, set up an install date and contacted us prior to arrival. We would recommend Androws flooring to others."

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"Went to store and picked put carpet and blinds. They already were scheduled to measure another home near ours so that afternoon room and windows got measured. Carpet and blinds were ordered the next day. Carpet was installed about a week later. Blinds have not come yet. Clarksville Floor Covering has very experienced installers. We have gotten carpet from them for many years. Family owned business so you get very good service. Highly recommend."

"It was wonderful! Daniel and his whole crew made the entire experience great! From what products to purchase, to who would install carpet. It was thoughtfully executed and seamlessly easy to be their customers! We installed the flooring throughout the main house ourselves, but the carpet was installed and everything was perfect! Would highly recommend this group of super-professional, kind folks to do business with!"

"<p>He was hired end of September and due to some scheduling issues on my end it did not get started until Dec 2.  He talks a very good game but the end result was dissatisfying to say the least.  It's now Jan 19 and I STILL have no shower.  He said it would take 7-10 day's to finish but it didn't.  He wasn't the one doing the work as he said ..it's his workers... a BUNCH of DIFFERENT people.  I tried to be patient.  He didn't always show up when he said and some days wouldn't show at all with no phone calls (even after leaving him a message).  He left the job PAID but the job not DONE.  (Stupid on my part). He left a HOLE in the tile where the shower flange goes around the shower arm and thought just by buying a bigger (which ended up being the same size) flange it would COVER it up.  The grout is sunken in some spots ... some spots still have holes too.   The floor of the shower was not squared and instead of off centering it a little bit so the eyes wouldn't just go to the UNEVEN side (like it has to now) ... they have one edge that is uneven.  They gave me measurements for a glass shower door that were WAY off.  I thought he could install it but he wasn't sure of himself so I hired where I bought it from. Only for them to come out (yes I paid extra for the door and the installation) to find out the door doesn't fit. He also said he'd install my lights and he didn't do that either.  Also my floor keeps popping as you step from the bedroom to the bathroom.  He tried to screw the wall to the beams but broke my baseboard (which he did fix) and my carpet is now stained from them walking in and out.  They also leave a mess everywhere which my husband made them clean up. Please don't "TRUST" his word, I'm sorry I did.  </p>"

"They refused to move the furniture for me. The laminate flooring in the sunroom buckled three times. They put white caulking under a brown quarter round and it oozed out. I had them come back out a total of 5 times and they had to get different installers. I would not hire them again."

"The professionalism and concern for quality was evident from the start of the project.  Matt Schulte visited our home several times and explained exactly how the process would work, brought samples of everything he had to offer that would look good in our rooms, and offered advice on wood selection and design elements.  He took our thoughts about what we desired and was able to effectively execute on those ideas. <br /> For example, we wanted to have a distinctive look to our floors and we wanted to have a darker boarder put around each room where the natural wood flooring was to be installed.  Matt brought many pictures of similar work he had done to show us how our floors would look.  He actually had a picture that was almost an exact match to the wood we had selected, and the room he had previously installed in was nearly identical to ours!  It confirmed that our ideas would look good in reality, and made our choice to go that direction quite easy. <br /> During the flooring installation, and upon tearing out the carpeting that had been on the floor, Matt's team found that our present floor was not level at the point of intersection with another room.  One of the installers went under our house and found that the support posts were not positioned correctly to give adequate support to the floor.  He took pictures of the structure and shared them with Matt and me so we could decide on the best course of action.  We came up with a fix of adding additional supporting wood.  They took care of the problem quickly, and the additional charge for the fix was nominal.  Again, he took pictures of his work and showed them to me so I could see what he had done.  I was thrilled! <br /> Due to several happenings, Supreme started to run a little behind in their schedule, and it became obvious that they were not going to be able to finish the second room before a party we had scheduled for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.  Matt, at his own cost, installed carpeting in the second room to ensure that our house looked perfect for Thanksgiving, then came back after the holiday to take the carpet out and finish the hardwood installation.  He had done such a good job on the "temporary" carpet that we almost wanted to keep it!  I was very impressed by his proactive offer to do that for us. <br /> Our flooring is complete, and it looks absolutely beautiful!  We plan to use Supreme again in a few months to replace the carpeting in our bedroom, and I would recommend him without any hesitation to anyone wanting to have flooring work done.  It was an enjoyable experience. <br />"

"They did a flat rate for the carpeting installation. It didn't take too terribly long, only a few hours. I liked the carpet they put in and the price of the carpet including installation was a good deal. One thing to mention is to make sure to double check before the installers leave, they will come back for fixes, it's easier to have them do it same day while they are there."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Oak Grove, KY

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
