"AWESOME! Dan sent me a price (well below competitors) same day I contacted him on a comparable window. On installation day, his team showed up and got right to work. Before starting, they put tarps over my stuff and vacuumed when they were done! The window, superb quality of the installation and overall level of professionalism way exceeded my expectations! Love my new window, will be calling again when I'm ready to replace my doors."

"I recently had 1st Security install a system in my new house and so far have been very pleased with all aspects of the system, from the initial estimate to the installation to the functioning of the system itself. Jeremy did our initial estimate and provided us with a thorough explanation of the system. I already had done a significant amount of research comparing Alarm.com to ADT and some of the self-install options, but Jeremy was able to provide even more information and help me to understand better the pros and cons of each approach. Larry did our installation and also was very friendly and knowledgeable, explaining each step of the installation process and providing me with a tutorial at the end. My wife and I have had no issues with the system so far. It is very intuitive, and we have been able to customize it to fit our unique needs. I highly recommend considering 1st Security for anyone looking at installing, switching, or upgrading their security system."

"The service went well. They were very gracious and arrived on time for the installation. They made sure to not track dirt through the house and completed the job quickly and efficiently. They explained how the windows worked before they left. I couldn’t have asked for better installers; they did an excellent job all around."

"All employees were very professional. Work was performed in a timely fashion. Installer pointed out a defect in one panel of the door. Replacement panel was installed yesterday. Door looks great with no air leakage. Room is a more constant temperature. Love it. Will deal with window nation again if I replace windows."

"They specialize in this kind of service. Worked with the insurance company to ascertain amount of damage.
The crew arrived at the time specified and completed the tear-off and installation expeditiously. Were very professional and clean. Ensured that none of plants and landscaping was harmed. Cleaned up after work very well. Salesman checked back couple of days later to make surethat work was satisfactory and took care of one small item that wasn't quite right.
Price was very competitive. Recommended them to several neighbors who then had the work done and they also were pleased.

"Another company - Clean Sweep Chimney - installed (poorly) a damper at the top of our chimney in fall of 2010. It never worked properly and we were unable to have a fire all winter because they were never available to fix it, and didn't return many phone calls.

So I got this company's info from a friend that had been very happy. They arrived as scheduled, determined that the old damper was both poor quality and installed badly,, they removed it, and installed a new one, clearly a superior product. I was happy with the service and the price."

"The installation team arrived promptly at 9am to begin work.  The installation team had the old window out and surface prepared within a the first half hour.  When the second truck arrived with the glass block panels the group installed the window.  There was a bit of a challenge with the vertical angle of the wall and one of the panels fell out on to soft dirt while being shimmed into place.  These guys are excellent bricklayers, and not only can you not tell where the vertical joints are between the panels, you cannot tell where they had to reset the rows as well.  Long story short, they did a terrific job, the window looks like one unit and the side of the garage looks great.  The total time for the job, arrival to departure was 2 hours.  The installation crew was professional and cleaned up the area leaving nothing behind.  The Ice pattern allows for the security and privacy we wanted AND allows a significant amount of daylight into the garage.  I will use Global Glass Block on my next glass block project.

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Oberlin, OH

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
