"The carpet I wanted took a little while to get her but it took them no time to get it to my house and get it put down.  They were more than fast and efficient.  They also said they would stretch it again any time during the life of my carpet if it needed it.  They gave me some super prices and some super prices on carpet for our other house that we are fixing up to sell.  In the end I was told that I was over charged so I was owed a refund.  That was especially nice to hear.  They are extremely nice and honest.  They will help and work with you in any way they can and will let you just browse the store as long as you want to without pressuring you about buying anything.  Just really great people in all. <br />"

"Can't say enough positives about Mike. He was great in the showroom - listening to our needs and helping us select a range of carpet. Then, he came out to measure that afternoon. He advised us to go with the least expensive carpet, because that's how long we live in a home on average. Very nice to have him fit the product to our needs versus trying to sell the 2 higher grade carpets. When he measured he did a professional job - figuring out where the seams would be, and ultimately saving us 13 yard (at over $35/sq yard). When the installers were finished, there was barely any carpet left. Mike made us feel he has integrity and balances us the needs of the customer with the business. <br /> The installer and his helper were fine. They showed up later than we expected, left earlier than we anticipated and said they would be back the next afternoon. They arrived after lunch the next day as stated and finished the stairs. They seemed like they were in a hurry to get back to another job and thus did not take the removed carpet, removed padding, new padding leftovers and packaging with them. We called Mike and it was taken care of within 24 hours - it was picked up and we didn't need to worry about it. <br /> Mike is the person to go to. Would definitely do business with Crenshaw again. If Mike left for another organization, might consider finding him, as we buy from folks we trust who do a good job at a fair price. Thank you Mike and team! <br />"

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"They met with me as scheduled, brought samples for me to choose from and completed the installation on a very tight time frame. The only reason I gave the quality a B rating is because I chose a lesser quality product as this was for a rental property. He did offer me a higher quality product but I declined. They cleaned up the area after installation, were friendly and professional. Emailed the invoice to me to be paid online, very convenient. <br />"

"On the tile: they did a very good job. They had to come back and fix some issues, because some grout started to crumble a few weeks after they installed them. They came back and fixed the issues. The tile is beautiful. Tammy, the salesperson, came to the job site twice a day, every day. I was very pleased with that. <br /> <br /> On the baseboards: I was assured that the job would be started during the week of September 2, because he was going on vacation. They did not start on the job until September 26. They kept putting me off. My biggest complaint is that they were never here when they said they would be. They would show up late, and then go to lunch. It was like that every day. I was living in chaos this whole time. They took two weeks to install the baseboards, even though they told me it would only take a week. We had to cancel our vacation twice during this process, which was really irritating. The baseboards are stunning, and they sent me a beautiful plant, thanking me for my business. That was very nice. Tammy did come out and apologize that it was taking so long. I would give Tammy all A's. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Odessa, TX

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
