"Called April 9, he came and diagnosed the magnatron as the issue, he ordered the part, but then he left for a week. Came back to install on April 20, part didn't work. He wanted to leave the microwave just out in the house while he waited for the replacement part to come in, but that would have left it exposed to damage from children/pets, etc., so I had him put it back in. He mentioned no liability to that request. He failed to come out again until Friday, installed the magnatron that day (April 24). However, while he was trying to put the microwave back in, the door was making odd popping noises. He adjusted the door and it's now visibly farther away at the top of the microwave on the hinge side and wiggles at the top on the latch side - neither of these were true before he worked on it, neither of those are true after he worked on it. HE put it back in and did a water test, then declared it a finished job. I would expect that anything a professional does would not expose my family to risk. We noticed that there was damage to our range under the microwave where he had been working (he has stood on the range and the grills slipped around a few times while he did that, scratching the surface - I would expect a professional to not damage our other appliances.). I let him know about that and he said he couldn't do anything about it. We had to leave for the weekend right after, but when we came back we found that the microwave door wasn't shutting correctly - it would run if we moved it just right, but then sometimes we would close it and it would just TURN ON AND START COOKING without us pushing any buttons, etc. This was a huge safety issue. I've unplugged the microwave and notified the repair guy (Logan). He has given me nothing but pushback. I offered for him to simply refund the labor cost ($200 of the $400 we paid him) and I'd get someone else to fix it, but he says the problem must be that we have bad latches, and he keeps giving excuses. I've given him multiple requests and opportunities to come back out and make it right. "

"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"They came out and after a service fee said it was the pump. After paying over $300 including service fees Washer still not working. They then said it must be something else. The second estimate was about $500 for a mother board. If they had told us initially that the board was bad we would have bought another washer and saved the cost of the ew pump."

"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Oklahoma City, OK

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
