Small jobs welcome

"During a home renovation we discovered black mastic asbestos after pulling up some old linoleum tiles. AIO home services responded to my call right away and came out the same day to take care of the asbestos. Very professional and knowledgeable. So happy to have found them and would highly recommend!"

"The process went well. The quote was provided in a timely manner. To the best of my knowledge, the asbestos removal and insulation addition went well. The post removal check indicated levels (not sure what the appropriate word is) in the normal range and that there was not residual asbestos. The new insulation on the pipes looks good.  <br /> The company was easy to work with. I believe the price was reasonable. A comment from one individual (who is generally in house repairs, but not asbestos removal) was that it seemed low. The other quote I received was for $2000 to just remove the asbestos. My interactions with the owner made me feel more confident working with this company even if I was paying a little more. <br /> Overall it was a good experience working with this company. <br />"

"These guys were awesome ! I first talked with them on a Thursday about removing asbestos tile on my porch, on Saturday they showed up exactly on time and got it done quickly. They were professional, knowledgeable, fair priced, and quick. They did the hard part of a project others did not know what to do about. They left the area looking clean like nothing ever happened! I am so grateful! Thank you!"

"The team was prompt, handled everything with care, kept us informed of the work to be done, submitted proof and pictures to the insurance company and completed the project quickly. Our home was kept clean and safe during the material removal and we were very pleased with the outcome. Would definitely hire again! Thanks for a job well done!"

"I spoke with Terry who listened to our job and needs. Unfortunately, we was unable to assist as he does not handle vermiculite, but he spent a good 10 minutes educating and offering tips for hiring a responsible company for the job. He also suggested two local companies who could help me navigate the process. Would definitely call on Terry again for other asbestos issues. <br />"

"I had called several lab companies, prior to finding Andy at Cierra Environmental and they did not even call me back. I was referred to Cierra Environmental from a mold remediation company. His credentials are amazing! He was absolutely wonderful to work with, as well as a great friend during a most difficult and stressful time in our life. He gave me alot of phone time as well, regarding all of the lab testing. Because the lab testing the results were coming in at different times. He was extremely thorough which was very important to me for health reasons. During our process with him I was also working on a fundraiser for my son's dad who was having an organ transplant. Andy was very generous in donating to that as well. He truly has a heart of gold. His pricing was very reasonable and his work ethics are extremely high and professional. I would definitely recommend Cierra Environmental and also use his service again if needed. He also does mold remediation as well, even though I had already found someone before."

FAQs for asbestos abatement projects in Olmsted Falls, OH

Asbestos is a group of six naturally occurring mineral fibers once commonly used in building materials because of their resistance to heat, electricity, and corrosion. However, in 1975, research confirmed that these fibers cause mesothelioma and other cancers, leading to strict usage laws. If your home contains asbestos, removing it can prevent long-term health effects. You'll often find asbestos in the flooring, ceilings, pipes, and roofing of homes built before the 1990s. Common asbestos-containing materials include vermiculite insulation, vinyl flooring, millboard, and corrugated roofing. If you suspect you have asbestos or any of these materials in your home, it's important to hire a reputable abatement company to perform testing.

Currently, there is no federal licensing mandate for asbestos removal contractors. However, certain cities and states require certification and specialized training. For example, in some areas, contractors handling asbestos must receive an Asbestos Handler Certification. Be sure to check your local laws to ensure any contractor you hire meets the necessary requirements.

Homes constructed before the 1990s can conceal asbestos within building materials, and testing provides a definitive answer. You should have your home tested by a certified asbestos inspection service. This professional evaluation identifies hazardous materials and determines whether removal or encapsulation is necessary. Testing safeguards your family’s health and supports smart budgeting for remediation.

Federal law does not require you to disclose the presence of asbestos when selling your home. However, certain states and local jurisdictions impose disclosure regulations that you must follow. Testing and professional remediation confirm that hazardous materials are properly managed. This proactive approach not only meets legal requirements but also protects your property’s value and buyer health.

Asbestos removal affects a home’s resale value because hazardous materials can deter potential buyers. Having toxic substances present lowers buyer confidence and may reduce the property’s value by 1% to 15% if not addressed. Professional remediation ensures safety standards are met and preserves marketability, protecting your long-term investment.

Grants exist at both federal and state levels to support asbestos testing and removal projects. Local housing programs may also offer financial assistance when asbestos is discovered during home repairs. Meeting certification and testing standards is required to secure these funds, which help to manage overall project costs while ensuring safe remediation.
