"He really knew what he was doing, great job plus tips on how to lubricate the garage door."

"My parent's recently needed a garage door repair, and this company went above and beyond! They responded quickly, diagnosed the issue on the spot, and had my door working better than ever in no time. The technician was friendly, professional, and super knowledgeable—he even gave me tips on preventative maintenance to avoid future issues. Prices were fair and transparent, with no hidden fees. If you need garage door installation, repair, or maintenance, I highly recommend them. Will definitely be calling again if I ever need service!"

"I pay a monthly fee to CHW for insurance against equipment failure. Over a month ago CHW sent a repair technician to fix both of my garage doors, the technician made an adjustment on one door and chanced the opener on the other. A week or so ago the second door failed to open. Yes, my door opener is old, but the Warrantee says, if it can’t be fixed it will be replaced. CHW paid the tech $100 and said the rest $200 is on me. Please tell me why I should stay with CHW if I have to pay 2/3rds of the cost to replace the door opener? On a separate issue: Granted I accepted CHW’s offer of a Lowe’s card to replace my dishwasher, because I was unaware of how much dishwashers sell for, it cost me an additional 300. Again, please give me a reason for staying with CHW"

"I had a list of tasks I needed completed to rent a property. Some involved painting and drywall repair, but other tasks were simply errands and a few light carpentry jobs. List was completed to my satisfaction and on time. I would recommend this provider.

"Overall, it was a positive experience. However, I was a little uneasy that the paint they chose was not the quality I would have chosen. Lesson learned. The navy blue paint marks very easily around light switches, etc. , or if you brush against it. Also, I almost had the feeling that the main painter was telling me he was done after only one coat, so I had to inquire as to when they were going to do the second coat. I didn't see any painter's tape being used, and now I can see touches of paint on the oak molding. Also, a few nail "pops" we're ignored and just painted over.

The other repairs were fine, except the front door shows sunlight in a small spot on the bottom corner if you're not careful about how you close it. They played around with it quite a bit, and assumed it was fixed.

"The lead issue was a major concern for us. Of the various contractors, they were the only ones very familiar with guidelines and how to do it. Upstairs was sealed off and we lived downstairs for the duration (we have a 2 yrs old and I'm pregnant, so we were quite careful). Lead tests were all negative. My 2 year old had his lead test about 2-3 weeks after the job was finished, and his levels were totally normal (levels at which they cannot accurately detect). Our upstairs is completely different now. The floors have the original wood showing instead of tacky paint, the rooms are all painted in new colors, trim looks great, and the walls in our room make it look like a new house. Hanging the door was tricky given the uneven frame, but they work perfectly and look good. I will say there were minor mistakes made at various points along the way (some floor finish splashed on the bottom wall trim upstairs, a bit of wallpaper removed from tape where upstairs was sealed off) but these are very minor. We are extremely pleased with the results and will use them again in the future!"

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
