"The estimating and quoting phase went perfectly.  When it came time for installation, there was a problem with one of the materials, it was ordered in the wrong color.  They quickly got the correct material in house to correct the error and keep the project on track. <br /> In the end, the installation was beautiful and perfect.  The installers were courteous, clean and professional.  The price of the project was reasonable for the product and service received. <br />"

"They did an excellent job getting out the pet stains and getting the carpets clean.  Our technician was on time ( they always call before they come} and very courteous and helpful. We've been getting them for awhile now and will in the future.  Also, they call to ask how everything went <br />"

"Two men arrived, though the younger clearly was a learner and the older man did all the serious work. It took much less time than I thought it would and they cleaned up well and took away the old carpet!"

"They were awesome workers. I have never had two workers who have done such an amazing job as these two. The stuck around and helped me put in extra molding. They were so pleasant and polite and did such an amazing job that I contacted the company after the job was finished to commend them. The only problem I had was with Carpetland’s supplier in Chicago, not Carpetland, because the supplier wanted to hold the carpet until they had enough orders to stockpile and ship all at once because they do not like to ship individual orders. They ended up contacting the supplier and getting my carpet there that same day and were very apologetic and even stuck around afterwards to help me move all of my furniture back in place. They went above and beyond service."

"I think we got a coupon. It was very quick and easy. The carpet cleaning was very thorough and very clean. It didn’t take too long; I thought it would take longer and it didn’t. We even had some tough spots like the traffic areas. Everything was really good. With regard to price, they were very reasonable. We had done a couple of quotes through other people. In fact, we even considered just getting a Steamfast. But when we read how they cleaned, it turned us to them. I referred them to my neighbors."

"Worked with Angela the most but also others in the store. I went back numerous times for different samples and price checks. They could not have been nicer or more helpful. The contractors did a great job installing the new carpet and tile. I had done my homework with checking most stores in the valley and very glad that I went with Total Floor."

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Oshkosh, WI

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
