"I brought in 2 antique Persian rugs for cleaning that have been in my family for decades. Moojan's (the owner) expertise of the rugs and how to clean and care for them was exactly what I was looking for. I was very satisfied with the results and will be returning to him for future rug needs. He is the best in the DMV area."

"Floor-it Flooring did several jobs for me on our rental. So ,I thought I'd use Mike again to do 2 small bathroom floors on our side of the house. After he gave the quote.I decided (for times sake)I would take up the old floor for him. Anyway,Mike comes back, puts the tile pattern linoleum flooring in and even put the door back on for me. (It was only to cover up the fact that he laid the linoleum all little crooked. You can also tell HE KNEW because he put the transition strip down crooked to try to hide it). It was such a small bathroom, and we are planning on selling the property anyway. Besides,I wanted to get the toilet back in and finish that bathroom. So I left his mistake slide. Now several weeks later, I have him back to do the second one and he totally screwed up the job.Unfortunately I paid him CASH. By the way, this time he didn't put the doors on because it even makes it more obvious of how crooked a job he did. My friend said it gives him vertigo when he walks in it. I haven't finished that bathroom for over a month now because he doesn't answer my calls. I called him 4 times already. He never offered to take money off for getting the floors ready and to top it off, he even kept my senior citizen discount. OH YEAH,HE'S A GREAT GUY...THIEF!!! You'll be hearing from my lawyer Mike Althoff."

"He did a nice job with the cleaning. Carpets look refreshed and random pet- and kid-stains are gone. The carpet stretching was for two wrinkled areas in the path of high traffic of a 12-year-old carpet. After stretching and cutting the carpet around a floor vent he asked me how I wanted him to fix the area around the vent which was now off center from the stretching and gave me a couple options which I felt was odd. I thought he should know how to handle it so it looked the best. I did make a choice and it looks fine but the whole interaction left me a bit puzzled. In the end the carpet looks good and has probably bought me a few more years of use looking nice before it will be replaced."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Palmyra, PA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
