"Brian is warm, professional, and we would definitely hire him again for handyman and home repair needs. His work is high quality, and he communicated with us clearly about the progress of the projects. Brian spotted a couple other small areas in our kitchen from an unrelated stalled project (unfinished corners between drywall sections; a sealed-off electrical outlet box), and offered to complete those for us, which was really helpful and generous. He's also great with dogs. :) As a heads up, Brian is in high demand and so there was a long wait-time between signing his quote and when he was able to schedule us in. But, his work is worth the wait. Strongly recommend."

"Steve responded to our call promptly and gave us a reasonable estimate. We expected to have to wait 4-6 weeks for them to start, but were pleasantly surprised when they came just two weeks after we accepted their proposal. Foreman Rob and crew were punctual and courteous. Rob was knowledgeable and helpful with regard to paint selection, and showed concern for details and the quality of the job being done. We appreciated his ability to communicate clearly with us about the progress of the work and his responsiveness to our requests. With a large crew on hand the first day, they were able to complete the work in three days. We are extremely pleased with the results; they clearly take pride in their work and pay attention to detail. I highly recommend them and would hire them again without hesitation. <br />"

"Dave accessed the problem with the foundation wall and then explained what needed to be done in terms we could easily understand. He provided a written contract with agreed upon work to be done, the time needed to do the job and the cost. The job started and finished as agreed. The job site was cleaned up every nite and at job completion it looked like they were never even here...Nice! <br />As the wall was being completed I asked Dave if he could do something about the unlevel dinning room floor and the dusty unusable basement floor. Shortly, after we talked, the dinning room floor was level...Wow! Dave said he would come up with a plan to address the basement floor problem. Next day he explained the plan to us. We agreed with the plan and the price. Dave and his crew did an excellent job and we now have a useable basement floor for our laundry room. We are very happy with the work performed. <br />I highly recommend Dave and his crew: Bill and Dexter, for any foundation work. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"John came out to our home and gave us an estimate within a half hour of our initial phone call. I had checked around, and the price he bid seemed reasonable. His crew started work the very next morning, ripping out the old floor, disposing of it, and prepping the ground for the new floor. They also stabilized and repositioned a couple of places where the walls had started to bulge out. They poured the concrete on Day 2, and on Day 3, came back and cut the expansion joints. John kept us appraised of the work throughout Days 1 and 2. The crew was hardworking, respectful, and skilled. I would not use anyone else for future concrete work. The only downside was that our asphalt driveway did take a little bit of a hit from the weight of the concrete truck. Alas."

"Too many details to list.  This guy is genuine.  Honest, trustworthy, thorough, knowledgeable, prompt, neat, reasonable pricing, and the list goes on... <br />  I actually joined Angieslist for the sole purpose of giving this man a good review.  <br /> He has a facebook page, and if you google MTD cleanouts, you can find his business there."

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Parish, NY

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
