"Brian from Torres flooring reached out to me immediately after I submitted my request, and quickly gave me a quote and did the repair that day! We had a small section of our vinyl floor cut out by our previous owners to install a wooden railing. We removed the railing and needed the flooring patched with some of the flooring we had stored away. I contacted so many floor companies who said the job was 'too risky' and declined the job, or told us we needed to replace the entire floor (for like $5k). Brian was super friendly and said he could do the job no problem, understood what we needed done, and did a great job! We were seriously getting desperate and didn't know if we were ever going to get our floor fixed. HUGE thank you to Brian for the expertly rescuing our floor!"

"I contacted Larry after we sustained hardwood floor damage in the kitchen due to a leak from the ice maker.  He installed new hardwood flooring in the damaged area and refinished the entire first floor.  We were very impressed with the end result.  Larry and his staff did an excellent job of matching the stain color to the existing wood trim and the floors looked like new. Larry and his staff were a pleasure to work with.  They were professional and extremely efficient."

"They showed up on time, staff was professional however there were issues with the finished job. 2 of the 3 rooms were blotchy. The owner came out and looked at the job. Offered to redo a coat of poly but we would have to pay more. Didn't think we should pay additional to "fix" a job. Also, the bathroom off of one of the rooms where the work was done was left a mess, stain in the sink and on the walls, used paper towels on the floor. We could not enter the room to see the bathroom before they left because the floors were wet. The owner saw the bathroom and we had pictures, he just shrugged like it was nothing."

"We couldn't be happier with our updated bathroom or with the quality of service provided during the project. We set up an initial estimate online and Raphael came right on time. He was friendly and followed up quickly based on our discussion. The quote was lower in cost and duration than the others we received, and Kitchen & Bath Direct was the most thorough and responsive of all the companies. Once we decided to move forward with the company, work was scheduled quickly and Raphael was great about communication the whole time. Jose did most of the work over four days and was also friendly, professional, and skilled at his job. We honestly don't have a single critical thing to say about the experience. We definitely recommend and will likely use them again."

"The technician who came out to take measurements claimed that he was part of the design team for both this company. He also claimed he was a designer for the Devon Hill housing development in which I lived at that time, so he was familiar with houses and the kitchen cabinets. After he took the measurements, he promised he would send me a rendering of the design to my email, but I never received this design for a kitchen remodel. I tried to contact them at least once directly, but I could not speak with anyone in person. I left a voicemail that was never returned. Then I contacted Angie's List for assistance."

FAQs for wood flooring refinish projects in Park-hall, MD

Rental sanders can address moderate surface damage, but their effectiveness depends on scratch depth and overall floor condition. Drum sanders offer the most aggressive removal capability for deeper imperfections. However, if the damage extends into the wood structure or affects large portions of the floor, board replacement by an expert might be necessary before sanding. Consult a flooring professional for help.

Always thoroughly review the manufacturer's operating instructions before starting. Wear appropriate safety gear, including goggles to protect your eyes and a respirator to prevent inhalation of dust. Inspect electrical components before each use to prevent shock hazards. Keep children and pets away from the work area, and maintain a clean space by frequently vacuuming dust accumulation to prevent slipping and to ensure you can see well.

Sandpaper requirements depend on floor size, condition, and the sanding approach. Plan to use multiple grit levels (coarse, medium, and fine) with at least one to two sheets per 100 square feet for each grit. Floors with significant damage or multiple finish layers will require more coarse-grit sheets. Purchase extra supplies before beginning because running out mid-project can cause visible inconsistencies in the final result.
