One note pertaining the subcontractors, on a couple occasions they left the key from the lockbox in our door  in the outside deadbolt which was a minor safety concern for me. This could be because I was home and they didn't feel the need to lock up. "Very professional installation inside and out. They trimmed everything out well and left no mess for us to clean up. Most of the cost was for the AC unit itself that they purchased at the vendor of my choosing. I had asked for a new outlet for the ac unit, but the electrician that they had come in looked at the existing circuits and wiring and told us that there was no need for another circuit and that putting another one in would be very expensive due to the finished basement below. We were not charged for the electrician to come out and tell us this. Honest decision - and we appreciated that. A lesser contractor would have just put in the circuit so they could bill more."

"We just completed installing a motorized retractable awning from [*** Link removed ***] and are super pleased with the quality of the build, appearance and customer support.? This Italian-designed, engineered and manufactured awning is assembled and shipped from RetractableAwnings.com Florida plant, so if you need assistance with the install, you should contact a local handyman, carpenter or contractor.? Ours is a Palermo Plus, 16 ft. wide, with an 11 ft.-10 in. projection.? The Internet salesperson, Eric Scop, V.P., really worked with us to understand all the options and get fabric swatches.? We ultimately selected a combination Rain/Sun sensor and Vibration sensor to automatically retract the awning in case of heavy rain or excessive wind.? I spoke with Rocky, their installation expert, for advice on preparing the ledger board to attach the awning to our vinyl sided home, right below the soffit.? His advice was instrumental in making the install go so well.? Further, the awning arrived already programmed to the Soliris transmitter and the motor limit switches were also set.? It shipped in a fiberboard box (this one was about 17 ft long and 1 ft x 1 ft square, weighing over 200 lbs.), which was extremely tough.? The truck driver ignored the box orientation stickers and used a hand truck to move it from the center, rather than two hand trucks, one at each end, per the clear placarding on the box.? Despite this, it arrived in great shape, other than a couple minor paint scratches, which we will fix with touchup paint they are sending at no charge.? While the enclosed wall brackets were different from those described in the installation manual (an improved design), installing them was no problem. An extra bracket was included, which we also installed as this will be a large ?sail? on the side of the house and we want it to stay there. "We wish we'd found Dave earlier in the building process. We would have had him take care of the trim and other carpentry as well as doing all the floors. We can't say enough good things about this man's work ethic. He does the work of two people, but he does it better than any other two people we've met. He made the solid oak flooring for our home, installed it, and finished it. He also laid the tile in our entryway, mud room, and two bathrooms (including a marble & slate shower stall.) After the house was "completed", we brought Dave back to help us work on the walkout level. He is the only person we've rehired."
