"The Problem: I had a leak in my living room ceiling. I thought I needed the chimney repointed. I could not find a contractor on Angies List search who does that kind of work. I wrote to AL’s member services. They gave me a list of contractors. I selected A-Advanced Chimney Service. They were the only ones who specifically listed that as a service. The Inspection: They came and did a free inspection. They determined the Chimney Chase Cover was rusted with holes allowing water to enter. It needed to be replaced. They also offered “Flash Seal” a tar like sealant for the flashing. And “Chimney Saver” a clear water repellent sealer for the brick. I agreed to their estimate for everything. It also included a Chimney Cap. The Work: The work was done in one day. Tony the installer is very experienced and knowledgeable. I was surprised. Tony climbed up on the roof at about 11:00am and didn’t come down until around 5:00pm. The Execution: - The Chimney Cap is not plumb. It leans like the leaning tower of Pisa. I didn’t notice this until much later. - There was little cleanup. Months later I’m still finding screws and pieces of some tarred mesh material on the ground. - When Tony and his helper Tim arrived for the inspection they tore apart a sofa cushion. They needed it’s foam to keep from slipping on the roof. They didn’t remove all the padding. To this day I have white pieces of padding stuck to the roof shingles. - I called the manager Denise about this a couple of times. The first time she said she would send Tony over to fix the leaning cap and clean up. Tony never showed. Now with the Covid-19 situation she says she’ll send Tony over when things return to normal. - Lastly, during the install Tony needed a 1/4” drill screw driver. His was worn. I loaned him one. I didn’t get it back. Not a big deal but the rest of this is totally unsatisfactory. The Result: The ceiling no longer leaks."

"When it rains on the inside of your fireplace, you have a problem. My chimney crown had several cracks that needed to be sealed. I called a few chimney repair companies and in the end decided to go with Holy Smokes Chimney Service. I found the owner, Waylon, an honest and forthright person who seemed to really care about my situation. He came to my home and gave me a quote the day I called him, and then proceeded to tell me he was going to put a tarp over my chimney with no pressure to use his services while I investigated other companies. I was impressed with that and his overall knowledge and experience. Waylon was back with his assistant within two weeks to clean and waterproof the bricks, seal the crown, and install a new chimney cap. They also blew the leaves off the roof, walks, and driveway. What a relief to finally get this done, and at a fair price. I couldn’t be more pleased with Holy Smokes Chimney Service, and highly recommend them. Thank you Waylon!"

"The guys were early and very professional - they explained what they were going to do, inspected my chimneys and made recommendations on the waterproofing and repair and installing the flue caps, which they didn't push on me but I decided to go ahead and have done while they were here. There was no mess and they were very efficient, and all the work was done in less than two hours.  They took pictures of my chimney to show me the things they were recommending, and showed me the after pictures so I didn't need to climb on my own roof. <br />"

"This is one of the BEST contractors I've Ever worked with in 20 years. Brent and his team were amazing. I interviewed 8 or 9 different roofing and gutter companies . Christian Roofing was the only one that mathematically and correctly addressed the inadequate ventilation on this hip roof. The installation was inmpressive: A crew that's worked together for many years; the Foreman and Job Capitain are the perfect complementary balance of new school / old school as one has a GA Tech degree and the other has 35 years hands on experience; they brought a port-a-potty with the dumpster; they did not use kick boards - which make additional holes- but were roped in; and they left the job site- my home- clean! The synthetic roof felt, shingles, vents were all high quality GAF materials with a long warranty. As important of an investment as a new roof is, I am just so glad I found these guys. Rarely do I write reviews but 'simply had to after a job this well-done!"

"I called for an inspection and a chimney sweep, and got an estimate from a professional young lady. She, in fact, closed the deal for me on this company as I had called several others in the area and had gotten just so-so service. The actual service man arrived promptly at the scheduled time. Upon inspecting the chimney, he said we didn't need that cleaned at all--kind of refreshing since I wouldn't have known myself if the chimney was "needy" or not. He then noted that we did not have a cap, and gave us a very good price for installing one on the spot. He also included the inspection in the cost. He was clear to say that it was unlikely we would have the leak again, which happened at the very height of a lengthy driving rain storm. The cap, he explained, would take that one element out of it since the rain was coming straight down the chimney and leaking through the brick and mortar. He completed the work in about an hour and was quite professional and nice. We hope never to need them again, but we will certainly recommend them to our friends and neighbors."

"I had originally called to get a price on replacing the vent boots on a foreclosed home i was trying to purchase.  Marcus met me there and although he was running slightly late he did call and let me know.  No big deal to me.  If your service provider isn't busy there may be a reason in my mind!  Anyway,  He quickly climbed up on the roof and hit me with some devastating news that I needed a complete new roof.  This destroyed me.  Trying to protect my best interest I asked for a quick quote on a replacement cost.  He honored my request although he repeatedly informed me that he hated to do a rough guesstimate but understood my position.  i had to have some kind of idea to go back to the seller with $$ wise and it had to be about an hour from when we met. <br />  Fast forward to the seller rejecting my offer but then we agreed on a lower price and I owned the home.  I then decided to get my usual 2 more estimates on the repairs to the roof vents.  I have heard repeatedly how roofers are some of the most dishonest folks in the business. Both of the other companies told me that I needed a new roof as well so I began getting prices. <br /> Marcus then got down to business and was able to give me a detailed price quote that wound up being lower than the other 2.  He also was able to offer interest free financing for a year with no payments which certainly helped with the cash flow.  His <br /> advice as to what color was very helpful.  I really wanted a wood color and he informed me that it would look phenomenal for about 5 years then due to the large amount of hardwoods on my lot they would begin staining it.  This sad but true fact was confirmed.   <br /> Only problem was now getting it installed.  He was willing to work Thanksgiving week if necessary.  He knew I was trying to celebrate Christmas in the house and was more than willing to do his part.  Unfortunately Mother Nature was very uncooperative with us.The only delay in getting it installed as promised was waiting for a few days break in the weather.  This is certainly understandable.  Once the break came they showed up with a large crew and got right to it.  They protected my landscaping and brand new HVAC compressors.  They worked well into dusk and were very fast and efficient.  To date I have found I think 3 nails leftover that they missed.   <br /> I read the other reviews on here and found Marcus easy to get a hold of and courteous and friendly as well as trustworthy and honest.  By the time it was all said and done I felt like i had purchased a roof from a friend.  To those looking at the price paid and saying WOW that's high!  My roof is very large with a steep pitch and lots of dormer windows.  2 stories in the front and 3 in the back.  Lots of gutters as well.
