"Carpet and installation is great. Hardwood installation and blend in was good and you could not tell where the new wood was put in. For the finishing, instead of staining the wood and then putting clear poly, they put down poly with stain mixed in to match the color. I guess that is cheaper and quicker although I am not entirely sure of the reason. However the color is not as even as the other method and, if you scratch the surface, the unstained white wood shows through. I will not buy furniture finished this way for the same reason."

"They were very good. I like the way they did my carpeting. I felt like I got a fair deal. They are very courteous. They do good work. I'd say it took most of the day. You are talking hours. They were excellent. I don't know of anything they could improve on. It took them all day. I don't think they got done until 5 or 6 at night. They did an excellent job. I love my carpeting. When I get ready to do my other rooms, I'll go back to them."

"Clint looked at the work being done and gave me his recommendation, but what really impressed me was his professional, friendly and respectful manner. He is knowledgeable and was able to tell me exactly what should be done in certain situations with regard to water damage and mold inspection and remediation. He even mentioned that his company has a protocol for working in homes where the family is chemically sensitive. I have no doubt that he would do an excellent job with whatever service he offers. I ended up not needing him this time, but I wouldn't hesitate to hire him if I have a problem in the future. His office staff were also genuinely very nice, patient and kind in listening to me voice my concerns and in contacting Clint to call me back when I called. In this review I checked that I did have work performed by Steamatic because while they did not do any physical work here, I did receive a very valuable second opinion in the form of a consultation. <br />"

"The process took 2 days due to only having one person available the first day. Jimmy did the measures/layouts of padding and carpet and completed the first master bedroom. Second day, Jimmy, Brian and Dillon completed the remaining rooms (guest bedroom, 2nd master bedroom, living room, loft area and closets). With efficiency, they moved some misc. items. There were a couple places missed in cleaning up debris, but overall, they did a great job and the carpet looks wonderful with our freshly painted walls. Note: Shane Graham - sales associate was very helpful when entering Michael's Flooring (and assisted in selecting the carpet for our needs. He also gave carpet sample pieces to assist in color choice. Purchased carpet Jun. 14, and it was installed on Jun. 25/26."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Pendleton, SC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
