"I've used Raecon Plumbing many times over the years. They are always very knowledgeable, and competitive price wise vs. other companies. Services I've used include water heater replacement , tub and shower remodeling, sewer clogs, drain replacements on sinks and toilets. Other drain lines buried both under my house and in the ground outside. I recommend to my friends and family as I'm a firm believer that once you find someone you can trust you don't need to look elsewhere."

Small jobs welcome

"Kachurick Plumbing, LLC, arrived on scheduled time. Work was completed in a timely manner and very clean and professional work ethic. Because of my experience. I had them install/replace my son’s broken garage disposal. He had received the very same high quality of repair and service. Would recommend Kachurick Plumbing to anyone that needed work or repairs completed.👍 "

"The plumber they sent said that I didn't need my sewer cleaned, and that my problem was likely due to old, corroded pipes and debris build up. He suggested pouring degreaser down my drains instead."

"They were the only company that would listen to what I was looking for when getting my sewer line and driveway replaced. Was there quick and completed the job in a fast an orderly process very easy to work with. Other places told me it would take three to four days his crew came in one day tore it out put in the new line put in the new gravel and 3 days later put in a brand new driveway. where the other companies said 3 to 4 to do just the sewer line replacement."

"Having a plumbing problem, especially a complex one, is never a good experience However, Dakota and Josh with Knight & Day plumbing made it as pleasant an experience as possible. They were extremely knowledgeable and competent They explained and showed me every step of the process They cleaned up everything afterwards and left my basement in good shape. All this on top of the fact I needed someone to fix the mess left by a previous plumber. I’m lucky I found them. They were very professional If you need a job done well and conscientiously give Dakota and Josh a call at Knight & Day Plumbing"

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Penn Hills, PA

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
