"Dave was right on top of everything. He picked up the sliding patio door for me and installed it. Quality workmanship and attention to detail. He is easy to work with and cleaned up after each visit. I am going to hire him again to paint my great room. I would highly recommend him."

"All employees were very professional. Work was performed in a timely fashion. Installer pointed out a defect in one panel of the door. Replacement panel was installed yesterday. Door looks great with no air leakage. Room is a more constant temperature. Love it. Will deal with window nation again if I replace windows."

"The entire process was excellent.  Doug Lippitt, the sales rep, provided a complete description of how Stanek Windows are made.  He exhibited the effect of several levels of insulation in the windows with a heat lamp.
After the sale, Doug was very attentive to assure the delivery and installation was done on schedule.  The installation process went very well.  The installers arrived, removed the old windows and installed the new windows.  The old (original) windows had hardware that I wanted to keep.  The installers removed all the hardware for me.
The transom windows were replaced during a renovation project.  Because of the tight timing, Doug Lippett worked very hard to have the windows delivered and installed on schedule.  This took a lot of his time to ask the factory to speed up the window building process.
Other contractors have noticed the doors installed by Stanek.  I have gotten a few comments about how well the doors were installed, and, door installation is not an easy thing to do - especially in an old house.

"One of the owners came out with samples of the windows to show me what options I had.   He was very knowledgable and professional.   The only complaint I have is that they didn't mention when they replace the outdoor window screens that they don't replace with a full screen unless you ask.    So when my windows were done I was surprised to find I only had half screens.   The other thing is that they don't mention that the installers are subcontractors and not employees of the company.   Despite these two things the man was friendly and professional.
The day they came to install the windows was when I found out that the installers were subcontractors and that no one from the company would be there that day.  This has taught me a lesson to specifically ask that questions of anyone that I hire in the future.  They could not answer my questions about the half screens saying that I needed to follow up with the company.   One of the windows size was not ordered correctly so I was told it would have to be ordered and would take a few weeks.  This was after the old window had been taken out.   Most of the windows were installed well.  But a couple of them had knocked off plaster on the inside.   I was told that they wouldn't fix this, that I would have to fix it myself or hire someone to fix it.   So I had these chunks out of the sides of my windows inside the house.  The caulking was very sloppily put on at the last minute.   Later when opening and closing the windows I found that one of them wouldn't close properly.   I called and they said that I would have to push down hard to close until the window wore itself in.
I asked about the screen when I finally talked to the owners again.  He said that I would have had to specify at the time of the initial visit if I wanted full screens or not.    He said to do it now it would be an extra expense since they half screens were already installed.   I would have specified if he would have mentioned that they were only doing half screens at the visit and or on my order paperwork.    The screens fall out of the track every time I move them.
Overall I would say that these issues could have been prevented and were just sloppy work of the contractors and overlooked by the company as long as they were paid.  When I pay someone to replace windows I expect them to be replaced and leave the structure as they found it.   To damage and leave chunks of wall missing and expect the customer to handle it is not professional.  Especially when I am sure that causing chunks when pulling out the old window is very common.
I would never use this company again.

"The installer showed up on time and started work right away.  The installer was polite and professional and understood his work very well.  After discussing the doors and window that should be linked to the alarm, he provided advice on where the key pad should be located.  The installer also set up and explained the system to me as well.
I docked quality, slightly, on account of the original placement of the pin pad.  The installer put it in a spot that prevented a door in my living room from fully opening.  I pointed this out to him, and the installer was kind enough to move it about 6 inches to fix the problem.  Moving left some extra drill holes in my living room wall, but that's fine as we're repainting soon.

"Danny Siders most recently completed a partial renovation project on our kitchen, first floor powder room, and floors in the kitchen, powder room, front and rear hallways and utility room. The work in the kitchen involved installation of granite counter tops, installation of a tile backsplash, new double basin sink with reconnection of the garbage disposal, new faucet, installation of a new a dishwasher that we bought, new kitchen island with additional electrical outlets, and relocation of an overhead light. We wanted to keep our cabinets, but had him install new door handles, hidden hinges, and pull-out drawer shelves in most of our lower cabinets (love these) . In the powder room he replaced the sheet mirror with a custom wood framed mirror, installed a new sink, faucet, granite counter top, towel rings/toilet paper holder, new vanity light that we purchased, and replaced all the cabinet hardware. He removed all of our old vinyl tile flooring, replaced and screwed down new subflooring (so it would stop squeeking) and installed hard wood floors throughout the front hall, powder room, kitchen, and rear hallway which look beautiful. In the utility room he installed new porcelin tile (which required moving the washer, dryer, utility tub and freezer!). This is not the first project he has done for us. Last year Danny completed a renovation of our master and guest bathrooms which turned out gorgeous. We have found him to be a highly skilled professional who pays attention to the quality and details of his work. He is very knowledgeable about materials, comes to the job with catalogues to puruse for ideas, and readily offers suggestions. He is also not afraid to steer you away from a poor choice if he thinks it will detract from the ultimate goal of the project. On the rare occasion of a misunderstanding he has gone out of his way to meet our expectations and to resolve issues promptly. Almost all of the work is done by Danny personally so if a large project is planned, the expectation should be that it will take some time to complete. The advantage to this, however, is that you deal with him directly. He is also very conscious of trying to keep the chaos of a renovation to a minimum. He cleans up meticulously each day, and shows respect for the rest of your home furnishings. We have found him to be honest, highly conscientious, and very knowledgeable. We would highly recommend him, and in fact are having him begin a couple of smaller projects in the near future."

FAQs for doors (interior) installation and replacement projects in Perry, OH

If your existing frame is in good shape, you can replace an interior door without changing the frame. This is a budget-friendly option because it saves on the cost of removing and installing a new frame. By choosing a slab door that fits your current frame, you'll save on labor and materials. Just make sure the new door matches the old one's dimensions for a smooth replacement.

Standard interior doors are 80 inches tall and range from 28 to 32 inches wide. Interior doors vary from 24 to 36 inches wide, depending on their purpose and the available space. Building codes require interior doors to be at least 80 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Knowing standard sizes helps you select a new door that fits properly in your existing opening.

It costs $600 to $2,000 or more to move an inside door. The total price depends on your location, the type of door, and materials needed to complete the project. Moving an interior door requires walling up the leftover space and opening up a new wall where you want the door to go instead. You’ll also want to plan for the expense of framing the new wall opening and adding trim.

Exterior door installation costs an average of $1,175, with a typical range of $525 to $1,800. The higher expense compared to the cost of interior doors comes from the need for exterior doors to be weather-proofed and they are often made of thicker, more durable materials. The associated exterior hardware must also be able to withstand harsh weather, so these cost more as well.

It costs between $300 to $2,500 to make a doorway wider on average. However, the wider you need the space to be, the more it will cost. Some homeowners choose to widen interior doorways to make the house more wheelchair accessible. In order to be wheelchair accessible, an interior door needs to be at least 32 to 36 inches wide. Also, some older homes just have narrow doorways due to the nature of how homes were built differently many decades ago.

It takes between two to five hours for a professional door installer to install an interior door, depending on complexity and materials. A pre-hung door typically takes around two hours, and larger doors like double French doors can take up to five hours. If you’re doing the project yourself, expect it to take a little longer than that, especially if you have little to no experience completing this type of project. Keep in mind that a pre-hung door can be installed about an hour or two faster than a slab door.
