"We live in a prewar coop building in Manhattan and were in need of a kitchen, living and dining room/den renovation. Because of the limitations in our building, we were not optimistic that many changes could be made that would dramatically alter the feel/function of the space. Inson Wood proved us completely wrong. With his architectural eye and his impeccable design aesthetic we (and everyone who has been here before and after) experiences our apartment as an entirely different living space. Even family members are shocked at the transformation. I think that what Inson accomplished was the product of a few significant factors. First, Inson asks you what you want and seriously considers how you live. If Inson thinks that different approaches should be considered for what you want, he provides renderings of each option so that you can easily visualize and imagine them. Ultimately, Inson respects your preferences and works with them, elevating them to a level far above what you had imagined. Inson uses the highest quality vendors (whom we NEVER would have found) and expertly guides you through choices (note: follow his recommendations!!!)- our walls would never have had dimension and our kitchen backsplash never have been so unique (two examples) if not for the artisans that Inson uses. Inson is also willing to have you be as much or as little involved in the process as you want to be. I did go with Inson to choose many pieces of furniture but realized after a certain point that his taste point made me confident in him choosing much finishing work (ex: window treatments, decorative cushions, which I love) without me. As with all design work, there are always glitches and Inson was extremely responsive and responsible for taking care of those as they came up. We are nothing less than thrilled to come home each evening and enjoy our space, which feels like a luxurious retreat perfectly tailored to us."

"Mr. Powers, at first, was courteous and reliable; the project seemed to have problems, and he was getting frustrated at having to surface the existing deck due to its configuration; he claimed that the measurements and figures were off, while another professional disagreed with his calculations; the project was delayed due to materials being delayed by supplier; Mr. Powers suggested another other remedies for steps and that I purchase an additional type of board for $120, which I did; i paid Mr. Powers in full of the understanding that he would come back and finish off certain areas; during this time, a death occurred and he was unable to come when scheduled; when I texted Mr. Powers, he began belligerent, and cursed at me. I do not find it professional to curse at a client and refuse to take phone calls. I ultimately told Mr. Powers not to come back to my house and to refund the board I purchased that was in his possession. He did so. Since the time of completion, May 2026, numerous boards have come loose. I had someone else correct this issue, and now more boards are coming loose, which I texted him about and showed pictures of on September 9, 2026, and have not heard back from Mr. Powers regarding acknowledgment or addressing the loose boards, as my contract provides for two (2) years."

"Sal amazed us. Hiring contractors is funny business. If you have an older home, you have probably had mixed experiences. Certainly everyone has heard, or experienced, a horror story. We've wanted to finish our attic and make an office for quite a while, and had a few false starts. I went to Angi's, quite honestly, out of desperation. Entered a description of work needed - didn't need to join - GREAT INTERFACE ANJI! Sal called me shortly after I posted, came over quickly, was great and understood our needs, so we hired him. Here's where the amazing things started happening. Sal shows up, on time and with the nicest crew. We can immediately tell we are in good hands. I talk to my wife, and we agree to ask Sal about several other issues around the house; rotting deck stairs, mold damage in the foyer from old leak, small plumbing headaches. Sal takes a look, says no problem, and gives us a good number. Now we not only have the attic space of my wife's dreams, but we can go into the holiday with ALL work done (understand we met Sal around Thanksgiving, and he did a lot of work.) Thanks Sal and the guys, you were delightful to have in our home. ps. I've always felt a good boss is somebody who is willing to work harder than his employees. Sal is a good boss. Hire Sal!"

"We are unbelievably happy with the job that George and Roy from Prince Akeems did on our backyard wall. The wall was a horrible eyesore--cinderblock with the lower half covered in a kind of adhesive tar and plastic that someone had applied many years ago. It was objectively hideous. The first time George came over, I had a couple of ideas about what should be done with it, but he had a much better one, which was to remove the plastic and adhesive tar, then cover the cinderblock in a thin layer of concrete, then put a layer of dark green stucco over that. My point here is that George was very creative about the project and came up with a much better solution than I would have been able to come up with myself. He and Roy worked very effectively over nearly two full work days to complete the wall, which looks wonderful. I would add that this was not an easy project, especially the first phase, which was quite an unpleasant task. It has totally transformed the backyard and increased our enjoyment of the space tremendously! Furthermore, Prince Akeems rates are extremely fair and George and Roy were a pleasure to work with over the course of the entire project. They are very communicative and do an excellent job of explaining and making transparent what they are doing. You should hire them; you won't be sorry."
