"Mr. Mayne came as scheduled to examine the site and determined the cost for replacing the porch and steps. He described how he would also fill a crack between the porch and the walk and agreed to extend the width of the steps and to repair a crack between the steps at the side of the house. I asked about installing a rail on the steps. He replied that if I obtained the rail, he would install it. He called the next day with the amount he would charge which seemed reasonable from information we had from other sources. He said they could do the work in a week and a half. When I explained that I had not yet found a rail, he said that they could do the work and when I obtained the rail, he would come back and install it. They came at the scheduled time and did a great job removing the damaged porch and building a new one.
I was impressed with Mr. Mayne's answers to my questions and his assessment of the best option for repairing or replacing the porch.  The work was done efficiently and a concrete spill was cleaned up thouroughly.  The workers were friendly and cooperative in every way.  Mr. Mayne reiterated his willingness to install a rail when I obtained it.

"I could not be happier with the work that D&J Construction has done for me. I contacted D&J to inquire about a concrete floor for a pole barn and that turned into a real partnership to not only do that, but Sandy also put a huge amount of effort into helping me find a builder for the pole barn itself. Both Jim and Sandy have been terrific to work with. The work itself is high quality, costs are very fair and Jim is completely transparent as costs are incurred. As the work progressed, the communication was outstanding. And as complications with the overall project occurred, Jim was a great partner to help me resolve those. For example, I found that I really needed to add a driveway to get to the new pole barn. Within about an hour Jim had a plan and schedule to get that done and delivered on it the next day."

"On the Go Construction did Amazing Awesome work on my concrete, I could cry! They sealed my cracks and worked with my budget. The previous construction co left me with horrible curb appeal from clear coat sealing and refused to improve it. I would highly recommend ON THE GO CONSTRUCTION!!!😉☺️😃"

FAQs for concrete delivery projects in Pewee Valley, KY

The amount of concrete you need varies by project. One 80lb bag covers an area of about 2 square feet, for a slab 4 inches thick. Two 60lb bags of concrete cover an area of about 2 square feet for a slab that is 6 inches thick.

A truckload of concrete can usually hold a maximum of 10 cubic yards.

The cost of concrete per cubic yard depends on which brand you purchase, but usually costs about $110 for bags.

It takes about 41 bags of concrete to fill a cubic yard. Always plan to buy a few bags more than the exact required amount in case of mistakes.

To calculate the amount of concrete you need for a slab, you should find the cubic yardage of the area you will be filling. Just follow these steps:

  1. Measure the area in feet.

  2. Multiply length by width, and then by thickness.

  3. Divide the resulting number by 27 to find cubic yards.
