"We had a very good experience with Creative Carpet. From the very first email inquiring about a quote, Valarie was responsive and quickly addressed all of our questions and concerns. She worked around our (sometimes very difficult) schedule, and made sure that we could get measurements and installation on dates/times that worked for us. She helped us find a very nice carpet that worked within our budget, and we are thrilled with the finished product. <br />"

"PRICE above is estimate!!  I remember for the work they did, the price was great (including the vinyl) but my husband took care of the bill and he doesn't remember exactly what it was. We only paid about $200 for the vinyl remnant 10x12 which was a great savings!  <br /> We were called ahead of time as a reminder. The lady in the store was very nice and easy to work with figuring out our install time and dates over the phone. The removal of old carpet and installation of new vinyl seemed to go very smoothly. The guys were efficient and worked well. I can't think of their names now, two younger guys.  They didn't damage the thin baseboards at all either in removing or reinstalling. They cleaned up their mess and did a very nice job! <br />"

"Our business transaction with this company resulted in a not so pleasant experience for us. Cheap price, numerous delays and reschedules and the foreign labor. I thought we were getting a superb deal on the pricing until I saw commercials showing the same price structure frequently. We had an additional 14 days of waiting after painting due to excuses of shortages of sales reps and installers. The house still was chaotic until items were put back. The labor was impolite, mannerless and no shoe coverings. I had to spend additional time recleaning up after them before moving items back because of what was left behind. I have to get use to the fact this is how American businesses are providing services. We are dealing with the devil. The only saving grace is the carpet looks nice and appears to be installed properly. We received exactly what we paid for. I will have to give myself serious thought to doing service with them in the future. There will be no recommendations."

"I used Angie's List to identify companies in my area that sold carpeting, and Moore was one of those listed. Initially, I was turned off by a negative review of the company's service. However, ultimately, the product selection and price points at Moore Flooring were superior to those offered by other suppliers with whom I had shopped. Also, unlike the negative review, Mrs. Moore was very responsive to my questions, requirements and tight schedule. I wanted the carpeting installed in a guest bedroom before the arrival of holiday guests. <br /> The carpeting was installed on schedule, and it looks great. In fact, I have ordered carpet for a second bedroom, also from Moore Flooring. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Piketon, OH

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
