"I’m a happy customer. I needed a deadbolt lock not only installed, but actually cut for my front door. There was a small equipment issue (I heard Joe fighting with his cutter, and anyone with a mechanic in their life understands that this is par for the course lol), but the final product turned out great! He even factored in the unique positioning required for the lock to work best, taking into account the natural shape of the old wooden door and its glass window. The price was beyond reasonable (dare I say downright affordable!) and the time it took was less than projected. ‘Under budget’ for both time and money is a dream to everyone looking for services! I will definitely be calling on TrokStar again!"

"Had some minor difficulty locating stud for one bar. The second bar did not have a hollow wall and the wall behind the tile was concrete requiring a different tool. He did do some cleanup of concrete dust from the tub but pushed residua dust down the drain."

"Everything went well. Chris did a fine job with the shelving in the closets; his worker installed a curtain rod that we had trouble installing, and he also replaced vinyl planks in the foyer. They also installed tile flooring in the basement bathroom. All the jobs were professionally done, and we were very pleased with everything."

"Jon was adamant about making sure that we were involved with every decision and every detail before and during the project. He was very reliable and worked long hours to ensure that the job was finished in just 3 days, and we are very pleased with the end result! I highly recommend this company for any wall project, large or small."

"I have had Antonio and his wife once every other week since about October, 2023, and it has been going very well. They are very friendly and considerate. On the one or two occasions that I mentioned something that needed attention, they were very responsive and accommodating. Truthfully, my house is not real messy (only me and my husband) but they always do a thorough job throughout the entire house. There are 4 BR, 3.5 baths, LR, DR, kitchen, FR, gameroom, and laundry room. Last week they cleaned one of my kitchen cabinets and washed the Waterford crystal inside for a small additional fee. It worked out great because I dreaded doing myself. I do recommend them --- and they are very honest."

"After 2+ years of researching, getting quotes and attempting an in-house repair (which we found was way beyond our capability) we were blessed with A Plus Concrete & Foundation Repair. Two of our Deacons meet with owner Gary who upon inspection recommended a course of action for our concrete restoration and preservation which some contractors wanted just to replace our concrete for upwards of $48,000.00. After reviewing A Plus's proposal our Deacon Board unanimously voted to hire A Plus Concrete to restore & preserve our conrete entryway, sidewalks and steps. On day one job foreman Joe was one time, professional and reviewed the entire project, the workers were mindful of our Robinson Township Christian School students and busses. I was impressed and please how Joe cordinated the project and lead their team during our concrete restoration project which took 3 1/2 days to complete. We are very pleased with the work A Plus did and for our project it comes with a full two year warranty and support years down the road giving us one less maintenance item off our fairly full plate as we maintain for our church facility. The Deacons at Providence Presbyterian Church would recommend A Plus Concrete & Foundaton Repair to anyone in need of concrete help. Thank you A Plus Concrete & Foundaton Repair for taking care of us, Keith S. - Providence Deacon"

FAQs for security bars service projects in Pittsburgh, PA

Window security bars create a physical barrier that discourages quick entry, making most intruders move on to an easier target. Properly installed bars can also help keep children and pets from accidental falls, giving homeowners added peace of mind.

To maximize both safety and security, have a licensed professional install quick-release hardware that meets local egress requirements.

Installing window security bars is legal in most areas, but local building codes often require emergency-egress features and quick-release hardware. Some states and municipalities, including California, Mississippi, and Texas, prohibit permanently closed burglar bars to prevent occupants from becoming trapped in the event of a fire.

Before installing window security bars, review local and state regulations for setback requirements, operable hardware, and fire safety compliance. This ensures your installation meets legal standards while keeping your home secure and accessible in the event of an emergency.

Window security bars enhance home safety features and appeal to buyers who prioritize protection. Properties with professionally installed window security bars often qualify for lower homeowners insurance premiums, offsetting some of the installation cost. This value boost is most pronounced in neighborhoods with higher crime rates, where buyers feel more secure.

Choosing custom or decorative bars enhances your home's curb appeal, while quick-release mechanisms maintain emergency access, making your home both more marketable and safer.

To make window bars look attractive, select custom decorative designs that complement your home’s architectural style. Wrought iron bars with scrollwork, floral motifs, or geometric patterns can become an elegant focal point rather than a security eyesore.

Incorporate planter boxes beneath your windows, allow climbing ivy to soften the lines, or apply a coordinating paint finish to blend bars with exterior colors. You can also install quick-release decorative panels or matching shutters that conceal bars when not in use, achieving both beauty and security.
