"Excellent, no problems. My car was new the first year I used the service and there has never been any damage during the transports. The men picking up and delivering the car have always been pleasant and cooperative. Both Ely and Guy at United Transport has been highly responsive to my needs. I would highly recommend this company."

"My wife and I are very pleased with the very successful and timely remodeling of our medium size kitchen by the Pittsburgh Remodeling Company (PRC). Rob, Nate, Sophia, Chris W., Heidi, Chris S., and Jeremy coordinated with us and with Allegheny Millwork, Inc., Don's Appliances, Best Tile, The Tile Shop and Cambria, Inc. and in the design, purchase and installation of all the necessary components to achieve totally new, beautiful and very functional interior space. We had used PRC previously in a successful, timely and complete remodeling of our kids' bathroom; thus, we were familiar with their workmanship and style of interaction and coordination with the homeowners. However, we did seek three bids for the kitchen project. All bids were within 10% of each other. PRC had the most experience with timely remodeling of kitchens and excellent reviews of their craftsmanship and creativity in surmounting unforeseen obstacles during the reconstruction. We were always informed as to the dates and times that the renovation team members were coming to the home. At the outset, they were very careful to cover all walking paths and steps as well as a large area of our dining room with a special cardboard and tape on which we reestablished the refrigerator and a camp-style temporary kitchen. All debris was collected each day and moved to a dumpster near the home. All products from all vendors were delivered on time and coordinated through PRC to speed the installation. Moreover, the flow of ideas, suggestions for changes to improve functionality and appearance and running costs were essentially continuous between the PRC team members on site and my wife and me. When either we or a team member on site needed something altered or purchased, it was discussed and achieved. The result was, as noted, a beautiful, functional kitchen that is admired by all that see it. As such, my wife and I highly recommend Pittsburgh Remodeling Company for your next kitchen and/or bath renovation."

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Pittsburgh, PA

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
