"I knew the pump had to be pulled out of the ground. I knew the two or three things that could be the culprit. I just needed someone to do the job that wouldn’t take advantage of me financially, knew the ins and outs of what had to be done, and would do the task quickly, efficiently, completely, competently, and correctly. It’s not a lot to ask or expect from a professional tradesman. Bob Walter, the owner/operator of Pocono Mountain Plumbing told me when he’d be there and said he’d call when he was on the way. He did just that. I said I’d meet him there as I was running home from my office to let him in. When I pulled up he was already at work on the problem. He wasn’t sitting in his van waiting for me; he wasn’t mulling around or on the phone making other arrangements. He was already doing his job. His truck was already unloaded, his assistant was already setting up and gathering the tools they’d need, and the well was already partially disassembled... and I wasn’t even there yet. After a short introduction (as well as to his helper/nephew, Danny), I unlocked the house, and within five minutes the situation was diagnosed and repairs had begun. Bob didn’t stop explaining what he was doing throughout the entire process. Just from his description of what was happening and his actions as he performed them, he left no question as to his expertise, his thoroughness, what needed to be done, what was required and what was optional/recommended, how long it would take, and what it would cost. He pointed out what had been done incorrectly the last time it was “fixed,” and he remedied those things as he went along in his task. Not a moment was wasted (not the least of which was because it was 25 degrees outside). As a result of the way he works, what I envisioned as potentially a five to six hour job, was completed in under two hours: completely, correctly, and meticulously. Small things that others might have overlooked to cut corners were done (e.g. disinfecting the well, adding extra reinforcements of electrical tape at the joints connecting the pump and along the length of the pipe, etc.). As quickly as they showed up, they were gone - the job analyzed, quoted, performed, cleaned up, and paid for in less time than I thought it would take to just evaluate the situation. If there’s a higher accolade to be paid to a reliable and honest tradesman, I don’t know what it is other than to say that I have rarely had the pleasure of dealing with someone like Bob Walter. His demeanor, expertise, and sincerity are obvious. He is a true professional, and I wouldn’t hesitate to call him first and immediately with any plumbing or heating question."

Scott Cullin, the sales tech was very accommodating with scheduling our initial appointment. He was on time, asked about our project scope, performed his water tests and made a recommendation based on the findings. He was not high pressure at all. I advised that I was getting competitive proposals and it would be a few days before I made a decision. Orbit's equipment is the most efficient, seems to be the best quality, and quite frankly had the best warranties. The installation went well. The installer removed old equipment and installed the new softener and filtration kit. He was in and out within the 3 hour time window specified. He answered all the questions I had for him during the installation. Once everything was done and cleaned up, he went through the operation with me, explaining how everything worked and what things to keep an eye on. Very good experience. "Rob is a nice guy. He's the kind of guy who feels like a friend and I trusted him with my property, gift cards for purchases, and to do a quality job at a fair price. I choose Rob based on his Angie's list referrals and the fact that he was the only contractor who responded and followed up to my query. The tough part about working with Rob is that he is a solo operation (most of the time) so we had to wait several months for him to be available for the job. Fortunately our timeline was flexible so it worked out for us. He did a nice job by calling each month to let us know the status of his other projects and when we might expect to get started. When he started he actually had to take a few days off because he came down with a cold, but again he had good communication skills to let us know when he could resume. This is the challenge of hiring an owner/operator. He did a nice job in retiling our main bathroom. The house had its original tiles on the floor and walls from the 1960's which he had to dig up, smooth out the base, and lay down new tiles. He also installed a new bathroom vanity, 2 mirrors, new light fixture, & towel racks as well as painted the walls and ceiling. He did break the top on our toilet when he moved it out, but he was diligent in getting a replacement part to fix it. He was very good about keeping the worksite in good condition and minimizing the impact it had on other parts of our house. He disposed of garbage, and his fee was much more reasonable than for is to pay our trash service. He then proceeded to do our 2nd bathroom in the basement which was a total redo. This first included ripping up carpeting and removing all items. He put in tiles on floor and around shower, built a shower, installed toilet, vanity, mirror, fan/light, ceiling tiles. He did both bathrooms in 2 months as well as a few other projects including fixing a hole in the ceiling of our kitchen. And Turing in a new storm door. We went over budget which I wasn't as happy about but that was mostly because my husband and I wanted some more expensive items than we initially planned. But the result is we now have 2 beautiful bathrooms the way we wanted and we can enjoy using. Working with Rob is easy. We setup payment plans to spread the payments out over the schedule of the project. His rates are fair and he only bills you for his working time. The projects took lots of time and used skills we didn't have. Rob did so much and was always upfront and honest. I will definitely call Rob for future work."

Only issue I had is that they removed a 1 yr old Sump Pump and never gave it back after my request numerous times. That's been at least 3 months ago. Good group of guys!"
