"Three of the bathrooms in the house were completely remodeled. When the upstairs hall bathroom was remodeled, it was discovered that the bathtub drain system was broken. It was not repaired when the walls were torn down. The first contractor quit the job midway, and another contractor was hired. He worked on the downstairs bathroom and was supposed to repair the drain problem in the tub upstairs. it was not done. The tub did not drain and I had standing water for over a day. I called a drain service and they were not able to do it. They stated that the work should have been done when the walls were torn out. Needless to say, I called a licensed plumber who was able to access the tub through the downstair's ceiling. He replaced the drain and was able to pull out the piece that was plugging the drain. It was a $400 job. He informed me that the shower should have had copper pipe placed in it when it was remodeled. Our showers pipes were replaced with plastic. He questioned whether or not the contractor had a plumbing license because a licensed plumber would not have plumbed the shower in that way. It would be another major overhaul to correct it. Again, Lowe's is very willing to take my money, but not give me top quality service with appropriate professionals."

"Provider was very meticulous with this installation. He had a crew of three working with him that were not so much, but the owner paid very close attention to details. He was thorough on his angle cuts, placement of planks, and using pieces that showed the variation I was looking for. The job took a little longer than expected because the glue took a while to set on the cement slab, but he made sure the starting planks set just right. He also chose a caulk filler for the edges that matched the grout in my fireplace stone beautifully. (Another example of his attention to detail) Owner stayed late and came back early the next morning to finish the hallway and put on the finishing touches because I was having company that weekend. I've had my hickory flooring (installer recommended) for 2 months now and couldn't be happier. The only complaint I have about the job is the amount of glue I cleaned up around my house for a few days after they were done. His crew was not careful with what they touched and it got tracked all over. That may be the nature of the product, I don't know. Fortunately, owner left a bottle of all purpose cleaner with me that helped a lot. <br />"

"If I could give.an A++++ I would! What a great company. I will be going to them for all future flooring needs. A great Christian family run business. They went out of thier way to find an affordable remnant for a charitable project we.were working on. Then when I was over my head on installation they helped tremendously there as well. What great people! Thank you.idaho <br />"

"Carpet One in Ponderay, Idaho has been a pleasure to do business with. They have a large and varied selection of tiles, flooring and carpet, their staff is knowledgeable, installation is great. But more than anything else, the store's customer satisfaction guarantee is real. Through no fault of Carpet One, we had some hardwoods installed which turned out to have a manufacturing defect. The manufacturer did not stand behind their product, but Carpet One did, and they replaced our hardwoods with a different manufacturer's product at no additional cost to us. It is rare to find a company which has the integrity to honor their guarantee and do what it takes to make sure their customers are satisfied with both their product and service, but this one does. Highly recommend this store!"

"He came in just to do the carpet around the toilets for me and he wind up taking care of other things that I was complaining about. He does everything. His prices are also so reasonable that I almost feel guilty because the prices are so low. He is also very laid back and very easy to work with. He is very professional and prompt. He does excellent work!"

"They worked with our insurance company and was able to work it so that what the insurance company made available on the claim was exactly what they are going to charge us. They haven't completed the work yet since they have only been on the job for 4 days but what is being done is exceptional. The installer is polite, professional, and understanding of our needs. The installer, Chad, plans on working everyday, including weekends, to get it done as quickly as possible."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Pocatello, ID

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
