"I was shopping around and found that most of the companies charge about the same per sq foot. However, when I spoke to Rich Bailey, the way he explained the entire process, it was great. It didn't hurt that there was an Angie's coupon. The process was over 2 days but, it overall it took maybe 5-6 hours total. A month in and everything is good. The true test will come in a few years as to how it holds up. Do get the feeling that if anything does go wrong, Epoxy Floors will address it."

"Fernando, his son Frankie, and Jeb Kraft (substituting for a vacationing crew member) were excellent. Their experience, work ethic, and attitude were outstanding. Every issue that arose as they repaired work another company did several years ago was solved by Fernando. He always provided several options and we selected the best one for the situation. Because Fernando hand-dug the needed holes and trenches he had no problem when he encountered the main electric line several feet from where 811 had marked it."

"Excellent service, on time, and very reasonably priced. We recently purchased a home with a 20-year-old driveway, and the joints have seen better days. I was looking for a solution that would prevent water and weeds from getting into the joints and would improve the look and finish of my driveway. After extensive research, I chose Mastic Masters, and I am delighted that I did. They texted me with my appointment, showed up on time, and finished the job quickly and professionally. The best part of all, I was able to pay my invoice online, which made my life easy. I highly recommend Mastic Masters if you are considering doing any concrete or driveway work to your home or business."

"The process is set up to totally benefit Anthony & Sylvan. They had 100% of my money 5 months before completion. My pool designer was excellent although many of the items we discussed and included were not completed until I constantly contacted Project Manager. One specific item never was done at all. The project scheduler did her job very efficiently - but again A&S procedures are not designed to benefit us. The project manager DID NOT LISTEN. He had little knowledge of construction (I had to point out broken electrical conduit so it wasn’t buried in broken state). They have different people handling each aspect of construction and often it felt as if there wasn’t any communication between them. When they got here they would ask me what the other person did or said!! The pool is great and A&S has been around for a long time which is why I went with them. I’m glad the process is over but feel as if I should have been on the payroll with all I needed to do."

"The project went very well. Best Bid provided a written quote and then obtained the necessary work permit. The communication was excellent and the schedule was agreed to by both parties. The driveway looks great and other neighbors are considering doing the same thing."

"HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I felt extremely disrespected by their workers who were described by Mark (the salesman) as long term hard working people. Mark landed the job by speaking half english and half spanish. The day I was alone with them at the house they did a terrible job, one of them knocked on my door to tell me they were done for the day and had to wait for inspection, I tried talking to him in spanish as I knew it was our native language and he was arrogant, reluctant, no eye contact, he didn't respond clearly. Summary of the events of the day: 1) They broke the main water supply for the house, they left me without water inside the house. 2) when I contacted Mark, they tried to gaslight me by telling him that it was my sprinkler system running. I had to send multiple videos to prove the running water in front of the house and the faucets with no water supply. Mark did respond properly by coming to the house and bringing a plumber to fix it. 3) They broke the sprinkler system whi"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Port Bolivar, TX

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
