"I really wanted to support a local business and checked out Jerry’s. They had a wide selection and assisted me in finding just the right look. Price was competitive, and service was prompt. My installer, Jerry, was friendly and a master at his craft. I highly recommend Jerry’s flooring and Tile."

"I hired Service Resource Co. following Hurricane Helene. My home had 2 feet of water throughout. Oscar explained the process of remediation, detailed the timeline and took the time to make sure I understood what to expect. I think I was in shock at the time, never having experienced the damage a flood leaves. He was professional and compassionate, answered every question and listened patiently as I tried to put together my thoughts. His team arrived on time everyday, they were courteous and hard working and kept the site clean. I would certainly recommend Service Resource Co. and would use them again. I believe him to be an honest professional businessman."

"The overall experience was very good. I started the project in late December of 2017 and the install was completed on January 9th, 2018. Installers were prompt and quick during install. Would use their services again as needed."

"Last year I purchased flooring from Floors Direct. My sales man was Bill Wallace and he sold me 532 sq ft at $12/sq ft totaling $6,800 Last week I went back to Floors Direct to purchase additional 230sqf and 9 stair nose moldings of the same product. Bill quoted me $3800 and told me that there was an increase in cost for the product. I showed two different quotes of the same flooring from competitive retailers and asked him if he can match it or at least come down on price. His reply was very dismissive: “good luck buying your product online... I hope you get what you are paying for.” Well, I’m glad I decided to purchase somewhere else. The product is the same, carries manufacturing warranty, and best of all I saved $856. I was disappointed at the lack of appreciation for a repeat customer, but in reality, I was charged a premium and overpaid by $1470 on my initial purchase. Their motto is “quality flooring at the lowest, bottom line price” I guess not ... Lesson learned."

"The technician arrived promptly and explained the pricing options clearly. He vacuumed all the carpets and pre-spotted several heavily soiled areas. He cleaned all the carpets and applied Scotchguard. In addition, I bought a can of ChemDry spot remover, which is my all-time favorite carpet spot cleaner. My only complaint is that some cleaning solution was splashed on the bottom of several pieces of furniture; however, it was easily rubbed off."

"BEWARE of KEVIN who is overly salesy and will lie to you for no apparent reason.. I spent 10K and ordered new carpets. I was told the carpets will be here in 2 weeks and once there in it only takes 1-2 days for scheduling. Okay no problem. Several weeks go by and I hear nothing, so I called Kevin back a couple times and he kept saying its Fabrica and its back-ordered. He kept falling back on, once it comes in Ron will call to schedule your installation and it only takes 1-2 days to be scheduled once the carpets arrive. Fast forward two months and we just heard from Ron for the first time. I am scheduled for the first available date which is 3 weeks out. Kevin only over-exaggerated by turning a 3 week process into 3 months and then he tells me customers only hear what they want to hear, like this is my fault. Expectations are everything and you can expect these guys to have diarrhea come out of their mouth."

"It did not go well. On 8/22/20, Sailfish Floors (owner Derek Clobes) sent me an invoice in the amount of $878.63 for the medicine cabinets. (no size stated) On approximately 8/24/20 a check was mailed to Sailfish Floors for 100% of the invoice. On Nov. 11,2020, the medicine cabinets were delivered and found by me and others to be too large for bathrooms. They were 24" W x 29 1/2" L x 5 1/2" D. Much too large. I accepted them in hopes of making them fit. They did not fit. Contacted Derek next day for remake or refund. He refused either. Contacted Derek to take them back as I had no room or place to store them. No answer from him. So basically I now have 3 large medicine cabinets I cannot use or store and I have lost $878.63. Not a satisfied or happy senior citizen."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Port Saint Lucie, FL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
