"Ralph Bertrand from Home Genius Exteriors came out to thoroughly examine our roof. Ralph showed us many photos & a video of our roof, outside & inside. Ralph took the time to answer any questions we had. He explained the various products used & levels of warranty available. We really appreciated the time Ralph spent explaining everything to us, all without pressure to buy. The day of install arrived & the team was on time & ready to work! One thing we liked was that there was someone there from Home Genius Exteriors during the whole time of install. Richard Bowan, the Install Manager, was there to oversee everything & he did an amazing job. They placed large tarps over all our landscaping & got right to work. Rich kept us updated on progress throughout the day & answered any questions we had. In addition to the new roof, we also had new gutters with leaf guards & downspouts installed. When the work was completed, we walked around the house with Rich. Everything was completely cleaned up; there was nothing left behind or out of place. Our home looks amazing. The new roof, gutters & downspouts really look beautiful. We loved our experience with Home Genius Exteriors, especially working with both Ralph & Rich. They were so professional & knowledgeable. "The contractor, Lonestar Siding & Windows, was located by me on my first use of Angie's List in May.  My wife had wrecked her car pulling out of the garage, and damaged the aluminum trim around the garage door.  Lonestar e-mailed me within 24 hours of my inquiry, and they were onsite to give me an estimate in short order.  The estimate was so reasonable, and the company staff were so friendly and accomodating, that I approved the quote right away.  Knowing this was such a small job, I expected the company would forget about me while completing their much larger jobs.  I was definately wrong.  They called me yesterday, 6/17/15 and said they would be out that afternoon to remove and install the new trim.  When I got home, I couldn't believe my eyes.  The new installation was incredible...professionally done and absolutely perfect in every way.  I phoned the company receptionist right away and told her how pleased we were with their work.  I also advised her I would recommend their company to all my friends and neighbors.  All I can say is that this was the perfect contractor for the job, and if it weren't for Angie's List, I wouldn't have heard or known about Lonestar Siding & Windows.  Thank you Lonestar for everything!!  My garage again looks brand new! <br /> Joe Sands <br /> Manakin Sabot, VA <br />"

"I contacted N. Chasen and Son to replace our shutters. While working on the quote for the shutters via email, a wind storm tore some trim off our house, so I asked if they could include that as part of the work (as well as replacing some siding and a louver). They sent someone out the next week to check the shutter dimensions and determine what was needed for the trim, siding, and louver. They suggested repainting the louvers instead of replacing, and sent me a quote for all the work and to get it scheduled. On the scheduled date, Marcus was on time and very friendly. He walked me through everything they were going to do and explained that the shutters were on backorder and would be in later in the week, but he replaced the trim and painted one of the louvers (he needed a longer ladder for the second). He had to return a few times to finish the work, but he made sure it was all completed and the quality is fantastic. I'm very pleased with my experience with N. Chasen and Son and will definitely hire again when I have need."

"Jet from Neat Sweep was fantastic! She was punctual, friendly, and went above and beyond. We were struggling with a worsening odor, and she found and removed a dead squirrel from my boiler exhaust. Without being asked, she cleaned out the exhaust piping and then recommended to me the components that weren't salvageable, and how and where I could replace them. By the end of the night, my chimneys were clean, and my home smelled fresh once again. Thank you for your great service!"

"I hired Alan to replace a badly deteriorated garage floor and to install a parking pad next to the garage off an alley. When he came to the site to give the estimate he also pointed out some failed mortar joints and significant stair-step cracking along the rear wall. In all, he and his crew repaired multiple sections of old mortar and replaced a rusty lintel; removed the old concrete garage floor; prepared the garage and exterior parking pad, removing dirt and a tree; formed up the new 18x18 garage floor and 20x20 parking pad, with a 4' apron; and poured the new concrete with appropriate finishes. I am absolutely thrilled with the finished product. Alan and his crew were a delight to work with. He clearly communicated changes in plans to work around weather and set expectations on scheduling and how long it would be before the concrete would be ready to be parked on. The site was left clean and neat at the end of each day, and the substantial, unavoidable disruption of the alley was repaired at the end of each day to make it presentable and drivable. No damage was done to my property or neighboring properties. I expected the initial estimate to be significantly higher, yet Alan committed to it, and the only small changes were due to additional work I requested while they were there. I could not be happier with how this project came together, and Alan was a delight to work with. I have several other smaller projects planned over the next few years and hope I'll be able to use him for those, as well!"

"Overall this experience went well. I may not have read thoroughly, but apparently this deal was for interior or exterior painting, but only to a maximum height of 8'. When the painter arrived, he arrived without a ladder and explained that wasn't supposed to do second story painting. He called his supervisor and we were able to work out an arrangement for him to do the second level for a small addition fee. Shortly thereafter, someone delivered a ladder and the painter completed the job. He was very kind and did a nice job. My only complaint was that they didn't use a drop cloth to catch the paint chips they were scraping. While the painter did some clean-up, there were some paint chips left behind. Overall, a good experience--especially since it was likely I who was the bonehead that didn't read carefully enough about the 8' maximum. <br>"

"Mike (owner) was great to work with, very responsive.  A few days after I signed up, I changed my mind on the type of storm door I wanted. I called Mike and "No problem", he took care of everything and found me the door I wanted. He showed up with the crew on the day of the work, which I appreciate greatly.  He had to leave for another appointment but came back to oversee the work to completion (not that he had to as his team was friendly and responsive as well). There was one issue with the door sweep on one of the storm doors, Mike and the crew came up with a solution, sent a crew member immediately to hardware store and got the sweep fixed that day.  Mike even agreed to fix all the trim around one of the exterior doors, at no extra cost.  I would recommend Mike to any and all. <br />"
