"The job went excellent. Shay repaired about 100 lineal feet of fencing that had blown down. He placed new posts in new concrete. Did all new framing and even got me a great deal on the fence boards from a local supplier rather than paying over double at the big box stores. He really cares about doing a great job and is meticulous and makes sure everything is done right instead of trying to rush through it. "I was recently seeking a contractor on Angi for an urgent interior paint project at my home with quick turnaround time. This bedroom paint project included wall paint (2 colors; 1 accent wall), wall baseboard trim repair + paint, door trim repair + paint, door paint, and a plumbing panel replacement + paint. When I posted the request on Angi, Eugene from Honeycomb Construction called me within a minute after posting (Wow!). I explained my situation (baby on the way/arriving in weeks, nesting) and project details, and Eugene stopped by the same day to get a good look at room needing paint + repairs. Eugene was able to meet my familyâ s needs to get this room ready within one week. Although the estimated job timeline slid out by one day due to factors out of Eugeneâ s control (cold room on the basement floor, so paint takes longer to dry between coats), he did an excellent job with all the promised work: the paints of coat were even and full, the lines between the two colors of paint were crisp and clean, and the baseboard trim was looking sharp! Eugene does great work, heâ s really responsive and communicative throughout the process, heâ s really professional, and he is very kind. "My washer unit overflowed. The overflow shut off switch must have failed. The water flowed onto the carpet in the upstairs closet where the unit is located, spread across the carpet of the closet and into portions of the master bedroom, and down the walls into the kitchen located in the first floor.
When my wife heard the water, I ran upstairs to turn off the washer and to survey the damage.  I contacted Affordable Joe's, and the owner (Joe) said that the minimum charge for a team to get to me is $360 ($180 per hour for 2 hours) but he did give me a rough estimate of how much everything will cost based on what I told him over the phone.The eventual cost was $414, which was on the low end of the range.
I gave him the permission to send his crew, and Justin arrived a bit late. That's the only negative mark on the whole experience, but it was mitigated by the fact that. Justin was at another work site right before mine. Justin was careful, asking a lot of questions, and checking various spots on the carpet and the wall.  We agreed on what needed to be done.
Justin moved the washer unit around as needed to do the work. He wet vacuumed up the water from the carpet using the pump in the van, peeled back the carpet, wet vacuumed up the water from the padding, cut and peeled back the padding, and wet vacuumed the baseboard. He sprayed Microban (an anti-microbial spray) on the baseboard and carpet, and put an industrial fan to blow the air over night.
He opened up the electrical socket housing in the kitchen and did not feel any water. He didn't want to rip into the wall without a good reason, so he also advised me on how to pull back the cabinet downstairs to check the wall. This saved me money. I was able to do the check myself the following day, and the wall was completely dry.
This was a good experience for me, despite the high stress of having a washer flooding the closet and having a potential mildew fiasco. So kudos to Affordable Joe's.

"We received three estimates on this work, and SD Water Damage/Restoration was almost 5K less than the two others, who were also on Angie's List. The workers arrived on time (or slightly early) for the estimate meeting and on work days. The woodwork was outstanding, and the workmen even made small repairs at no cost on several drawers. Our impression of Mr. Bennett, who did the actual woodwork, was that he was a craftsman of the highest quality and took pride in his work on every level. If we had it to do again, we would have draped off the living room, as the sanding required extensive cleaning afterward. We would recommend this company for honesty, integrity and value to anyone."
