"Quoted me on a Sunday, started that Tuesday, finished and cleaned up on Friday. They worked hard and did an excellent job fixing my foundation and made everything look like new again. Cleaned up after themselves, including power washing the dirt off my driveway and sidewalk. Their prices were more than fair, and they responded quickly to my questions. Would definitely hire again."

"The work was done well overall, but I had to remove some large concrete pieces from the sloping areas around the edges. The original diggers had buried these close to the surface, which would have made landscaping impossible. This was not Jerry's fault, as they did not follow his instructions to break these up, and add them to the substrate rock under the patio base. There were delays due to the very bad weather, out of his control, but the re-scheduling needs could have been communicated better, in my opinion."

"Jack McFee and his company is the best! He gave me a very fair price and his crew are artists! They laid a beautiful driveway, patio and slab for my trash cans. The driveway is a work of art. They expanded it to double the size and replaced cracked sidewalk and the apron. The patio is also larger so now we can put out a dining set and enjoy our parties. Not only did they do great work, they also cleaned up everything and replaced the grass at the end of the driveway where they dug out! I truly recommend them to everyone wanting new concrete at their house. You just wonâ t go wrong with Mid-Atlantic!"

"It went very well. William came to my home, measured and set up a date. My driveway was larger than the 150 square feet allowed for the $1400.00 deal; and I wanted it widened a bit so the cost was more. Laying concrete has to be scheduled for when the concrete company can deliver so it was delayed a couple of days which was fine as the weather cooled off. William and his men arrived at the scheduled time, double-checked the frame for accuracy and did a fine job. The new driveway looks great. Yes, I would use them again."

"We want to provide feedback about our mixed experience with Oscar and Solid Brick Contracting (SBC). They were contracted to demolish and build a new patio along with landscaping of planting beds. Oscar was able to start work the beginning of June, which was ten days earlier than expected. The crews were diligent, hardworking and knowledgeable producing a quality product. We were so impressed with their work that we negotiated to replace our concrete driveway before the patio was completed. The estimates for both projects were very reasonable. While the patio was completed, there was a follow up required to extend the underground drainpipe that was connected to the downspout. The landscape borders turned out great. The weather was not helpful and delayed our driveway construction. Once started during the last week of July, the demolition took a day longer than expected followed by rain that filled the excavated area. The excavated material was placed next to the driveway for grading of the adjacent yard area. The concrete was eventually poured after forming was completed just after noon on Friday. It was a long day for the crew working from about 7:00 a.m. until after 11:00 p.m. (including a few hours for curing before brushing the surface). Oscar and the crew came out the next day (Saturday) and partially removed the framing. In good faith we made the last payment with an understanding that they would be back Monday to complete the work. Unfortunately, they did not return for several weeks. To allow the concrete to properly cure, we did not park on the driveway for a week (during the Fourth of July week). The rest of the wood framing and yard grading was not done until the end of August. In doing the driveway excavation, they accidentally hit one of the landscape border walls. They “repaired it” while grading the side yard. While they tried to repair the wall, it still needs attention due to loose blocks. One corner of the patio is loose as well, possibly from bringing the equipment in to excavate for the drain pipe extension. We have contacted Oscar several times to complete these follow up items and seem to be on the back burner. These really need to be repaired before winter brings the freeze thaw cycles that will make the situation worse. We have been waiting patiently through August and September. Our neighbors were so impressed with SBC’s work that they contracted with Oscar to demolish and replace their patio. The construction of their patio also took longer than expected along with a drainage problem at their basement entrance. A crew finally return to our neighbors to start a repair to stop water from entering the house. That repair is still not yet completed. Our neighbors and us discussed these things and the time to correct problems. Obviously, our neighbors drain repair takes precedent and should be completed before Oscar completes repairs at our house. While we are thrilled with our projects, our biggest dissatisfaction is the lack of attention to promptly follow up on correcting problems."

FAQs for concrete flatwork repair & resurface projects in Pylesville, MD

When evaluating whether patching can address your concrete blemishes, it’s important to assess the extent of the damage. Minor issues such as small cracks or chipped areas may be effectively repaired with patching techniques that restore the surface’s appearance. However, if you notice widespread deterioration, significant cracks, or structural weakening, resurfacing is recommended as a more durable, long‑term solution. A thorough evaluation by a concrete specialist can help determine the best course of action for restoring your concrete to its optimal condition.

The optimal time to resurface your concrete driveway is late spring. This period benefits from warm temperatures and softened ground conditions following winter’s freeze‑thaw cycles, ensuring that the new overlay bonds securely and matures to a durable finish. Resurfacing at this time also enhances your property's safety and curb appeal. Engage a concrete professional to schedule your project during this ideal season.
