"They were very quick with their estimate and asbestos removal. We had to remove asbestos tiles throughout our above ground basement. Steve and his team came and removed the existing floor as well as the asbestos tiles underneath. The price was good and the work was well done. We highly recommend them."

"I could not recommend a better company for asbestos removal. We bought a new house and found asbestos under all the old flooring, everything had to go. Steve was very friendly and came all the way out to our area to take a look and give us a proposal quickly. Pricing was good. The work was easily scheduled and very well done. They took the proper safety steps and even had a third party come do air samples to make sure no asbestos was in the air. We even called them back for another job a few weeks later. They were just as prompt, friendly, and thorough as the first time. Don't bother looking for other companies, go with this one and save yourself the time."

"I submitted a request on HomeAdvisor, and within one minute, the owner (Bob) called me. We had a very thorough conversation about our needs and concerns. I received other contacts from more companies, but I was very impressed with Bob and REEACT from a fifteen minute phone call. Just by dumb luck, he was working in my general area, and was able to come out to do testing the next day. The day after that, the asbestos test came back positive (tiles, not mastic). The next day, he and his crew did the abatement. The day after that, the air sample came back, and we ha our house back. At all points, Bob was flexible, courteous, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. (As was his crew.) He was also VERY quick to respond to texts or emails. At every point, I felt that communication was superb, and I got detailed documents along the way. Add to that - he actually seems like a nice, personable dude too! We just wish he was more of a general contractor, because we'd hire him in an instant for a dozen other projects as well!"

"Michael reviewed a few different areas in my home (built in 1970) for asbestos. There were a few materials that he thought may possibly have asbestos. I sent the samples to a lab myself and received good news that none of them had asbestos so I did not have to hire Michael to do any abatement. Michael was very helpful. I plan to contact Michael in the future if I have any future concerns. <br />"

"It turns out that Mr. Spiess only took care of the oil tank removal, but the men he subcontracted to remove the asbestos did a fine job and everything checked out ok according to air sample tests. The men he hired weren't extremely thorough, but I was able to find a couple of fittings they missed and everything worked out ok. After the work was done, I needed test results quickly in order to begin a renovation. Mr. Spiess rushed the samples to the lab asap, and called me sooner than expected (at the earliest possible time!) with the results. One problem that I had was having phone calls returned, but when we were finally in touch and scheduled the work, everything was fine."

"I contacted Mike Fox to get information on testing and removal of asbestos in my basement due to removal of tile that contained asbestos. He gave me a price to do the testing, but then when discussing the issue with him, he advised that it wasn't necessary and suggested other remedies for the situation. I appreciate his honestly and integrity in not trying to sell me services that weren't necessary."

"We are first time homeowners and had a clogged pipe that resulted in water damage in the basement and damage to our roof from a storm within a few month period. We've never had to file a claim before or deal with this level of damage, and I didn't know where to start (do I call the insurance company, how do I navigate the process?). A friend who had worked with Funari in the past recommended them to me. I'm so glad they did! They did all the work, talked me through the process, and handed me a check at the end. They are professional, competent, and definitely worth their fee. Highly recommend!"

FAQs for asbestos abatement projects in Quakertown, PA

Asbestos is a group of six naturally occurring mineral fibers once commonly used in building materials because of their resistance to heat, electricity, and corrosion. However, in 1975, research confirmed that these fibers cause mesothelioma and other cancers, leading to strict usage laws. If your home contains asbestos, removing it can prevent long-term health effects. You'll often find asbestos in the flooring, ceilings, pipes, and roofing of homes built before the 1990s. Common asbestos-containing materials include vermiculite insulation, vinyl flooring, millboard, and corrugated roofing. If you suspect you have asbestos or any of these materials in your home, it's important to hire a reputable abatement company to perform testing.

Currently, there is no federal licensing mandate for asbestos removal contractors. However, certain cities and states require certification and specialized training. For example, in some areas, contractors handling asbestos must receive an Asbestos Handler Certification. Be sure to check your local laws to ensure any contractor you hire meets the necessary requirements.

Homes constructed before the 1990s can conceal asbestos within building materials, and testing provides a definitive answer. You should have your home tested by a certified asbestos inspection service. This professional evaluation identifies hazardous materials and determines whether removal or encapsulation is necessary. Testing safeguards your family’s health and supports smart budgeting for remediation.

Federal law does not require you to disclose the presence of asbestos when selling your home. However, certain states and local jurisdictions impose disclosure regulations that you must follow. Testing and professional remediation confirm that hazardous materials are properly managed. This proactive approach not only meets legal requirements but also protects your property’s value and buyer health.

Asbestos removal affects a home’s resale value because hazardous materials can deter potential buyers. Having toxic substances present lowers buyer confidence and may reduce the property’s value by 1% to 15% if not addressed. Professional remediation ensures safety standards are met and preserves marketability, protecting your long-term investment.

Grants exist at both federal and state levels to support asbestos testing and removal projects. Local housing programs may also offer financial assistance when asbestos is discovered during home repairs. Meeting certification and testing standards is required to secure these funds, which help to manage overall project costs while ensuring safe remediation.
