"I was looking for quotes for a small fencing project. Frick Restorations LLC was the first to pop up on Angi, and Charles Frick came out quickly to take measurements and provide a quote. His team was quick, reliable, and very friendly, making sure that the job was completed in a timely manner. The best part, he's local to Columbia County. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get some fencing done on their property! Thanks for doing amazing work! :)"

"Ken came out within a couple of days of my contacting him to look at our house. A few days after that we had a quote in hand. The initial price was just a little over what another contractor quoted us but Ken applied an Angie's List discount and the price was right on. We chose Ken's because his contract was thorough, he explained things well and he was quick and easy to work with.
Ken's team was supposed to start at 8am Monday morning and they were sitting out front at 7:45 waiting to start. The foreman walked the exterior of the property with us and we talked about trim and paint. He made suggestions and we made a final plan within a couple of minutes.
The whole team got right to work sanding, caulking, taping, etc.. Everyone in our family headed out to their various locales for the day and I got an email from Ken at 2:30 letting me know that his painters would be done the same day. When we got home about 5pm the house was done, everything was clean and the painters were gone. The small equipment trailer stayed parked at the curb over night but was gone by the time we were up in the morning.
This being our first house painting experience, we were very pleased with the workmanship and ease of the job. We have had comments from all of our neighbors about how good our house looks and how professional the painters were when they were at our home.

We had Jonathan Tutt with Assurant Exteriors provide us with a bid to extend our existing patio and to also put a roof over it for year round use. There were other bidders, but none was as detailed oriented. We knew exactly what to expect, and we had some design demands that added to the cost of the finished project. Jonathan spent a great deal of time with us going over every detail, until we were completely satisfied.

Although faced with very challenging weather conditions, the work proceeded right on schedule. The new roof transitioned into the existing roof so smoothly, it looked like part of the original build. The new deck was the star of the show. All the other bidders intended to lay decking across the existing concrete, but Jonathan removed it in a single day. The reasoning was that down the road the concrete may buckle, which would push on the deck and become stressed, and damaged. The real challenge was to curve the end of the deck, so to add a curved sitting wall. This deck was made of teak, which is very hard material. Many drill bits and saw blades went into making this special deck.

We could not be happier with the outcome! The close attention to detail was what made an average deck into a showpiece!

"Jason continues to be there for us to make our outdoor areas exceptional! We started to have some drainage problems with the recent heavy rains, and Jason was there for us immediately to make the pond go away! We are always impressed with his work and knowledge about how to get to our goals. We are very excited to work with him on completing our outdoor patio this year. He is an exceptional person as well and we really enjoy working with him. We have done approximately $30,000 in business with him over the past two years and we couldn't be happier about the price and MAJOR solutions he has given us. Our issues needed custom work and a lot of attention...and Jason gave, and continues to give that to us. I am writing this review because he continues to be so exceptional, I want others to know how good he is. Our favorite part of our home is our landscaping!

"The two workmen from F/X came out when they said they would.  It took half a day for them to make sure the gutters were all cleaned out and then apply the gutter guard on the 200' of gutter on our house.  It is not obtrusively noticeable and has made us feel safe about our gutters as the rainy season has finally begun."

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Rainier, OR

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
