"Iâ ve used appliance repair people for many years. Most are horrible. Most have call centers scheduling their appointments. Some hardly speak English. Jesse was quick to answer, scheduled me quickly, arrived on time and gave me a heads up, and is priced fairly. Iâ d hire him again and recommend him 100%."

"Cristian is the last appliance technician you’re ever going to need! Get rid of the appliance techs you may have saved in your phone. Cristian will give you an honest estimate for the work needed, and a very fair price once the work is done. Cristian will tell you what work needs to be done, and if you’re not home, will text you photos of what needs to be done. ( wife Home while I was at work) Cristian told me that most service tech aren’t really interested in fixing your appliance, but are more interested in charging you a service fee ($50-$75), then telling you your appliance can’t be repaired, or parts are no longer available. They do that 8 to 10 times a day, and make more money making service calls, than actually fixing appliances. I have to admit that that is exactly correct, because i’ve Experienced it. Cristian is an honest appliance tech, and you won’t go wrong using his services!"

"Overall experience was positive. The diagnosis was good and only required a $15 part that was able to install myself. My frig is working great. While my total cost for the repair was $80 which included the $35 diagnostic fee, the lowest other price quote was over $400. I am very pleased with this new type of appliance repair. I will be recommending this my family and friends."

"I called Blue Orca Appliance Repair because my LG gas dryer was not heating. Artem, the technician, arrived on time as promised. He explained that he would look at my dryer and then diagnose the problem. After determining what the problem was he quoted me the price for labor and parts. He replaced my faulty thermostats and completely vacuumed and cleaned out the interior of the dryer before re-installing the drum and putting everything back together. He told me to call if there were any issues with the repair. Artem was very polite and competent and did not leave any messes . After various loads of laundry, the dryer is working great. He does every type of appliance repair. I would highly recommend him for any type of repairs m. Armando "

"Chris was able to diagnose the problem over the phone, order the part, then show up and fix my Maytag fridge very quickly! Chris complete professional, he knew exactly what the problem was, showed up on time, and fixed the problem very quickly. I am a property manager for a living and have used many appliance repair companies. None of those companies come close to the service I got with Chris."

"I had a question about microwave repair. He answered all my questions and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately new parts are no longer available for model in question. He gave me part # if I wanted to call around for a used part somewhere. Got lots of good info."

"Outstanding workmanship, along with honest and fair pricing. Jack is amazing and we will never call anyone else for appliance repair. He has repaired 3 different appliances for us and is a true professional. We have hired others in the past and no one compares to the job that Jack has done, and you don't feel like you have been gouged."

"First let me say, we contacted A+ Appliances directly on their website prior to writing this review to allow them to correct the situation. We have had no response. We are very disappointed in our experience with A+ Appliances on Saturday, September 16th. Erik arrived on time to diagnose the problem with our washing machine and gave us a quote of $250 for the part (a transmission) and $110 for the labor to install it. After Erik left, we were able to find the part for $175 (43% less). We spoke with Erik and said we didn't expect A+ Appliance to warranty the part if we purchased it, but we would like him to install it. He checked with his manager/supervisor and said the labor would go up to $150 and would not honor the $20 Angie's List coupon. We don't understand the increase in labor cost. It seems coincidental that the increase was the same $40 amount of the "free" service call which he collected at the time he came out. We requested to speak with the owner to clarify this issue and never received a return call from the owner. They state they are fully licensed yet there is no State License Number listed on their website, their repair estimate paperwork, nor on the BEARHFTI.ca.gov website which licenses them. We had another repair person come out and tell us he thought it might just be the Ultra Durable 285753A Motor Coupling that was $7.49 on Amazon. He came back last night and installed that part and now the washer works beautifully. We apparently didn't need the $250 transmission Erik said we needed. While it could have been an error on his part, with the way they handled our situation overall, we question the honesty and integrity of their business practices and requested a refund of our $40. To date, we have had no reply. To summarize: They charged $40 for an incorrect diagnoses, the part was quoted 43% higher, it was the wrong part, they increased the labor quote to install it by $40, they would not honor the $20 off Angie's List coupon (which specified no limitations or conditions for using it) and they did not respond to our request on their website. They state that "satisfaction is fully guaranteed." Well, I am not at all satisfied.

UPDATE

When a mistake is made, the integrity of a company is determined by how they handle that mistake. After 18 emails back and forth, sending them a copy of an invoice to confirm the correct part, the labor, and that the washer was now working properly, they finally stepped up and did the right thing. They refunded the service call fee."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Rancho-Bernardo, CA

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
