"Ulysses from Valley Handyman was truly great to work with. He replaced the control panel on my Viking refrigerator, and while it initially worked, the fix unfortunately only lasted about a day. Ulysses promptly returned, got it running again, but after another 24 hours the refrigerator stopped cooling once more. Instead of giving up, Ulysses went above and beyond. He installed a monitoring device in the refrigerator and closely tracked its performance over several days. In total, he came back five or six times trying to diagnose and resolve the issue. His persistence and commitment were impressive. Eventually, I decided to bring in a Viking specialist, who determined that the cost to fully repair the refrigerator would exceed what I wanted to invest. I explained the situation to Ulysses and requested a full refund of approximately $1,100. Without any hassle whatsoever, Ulysses and Valley Handyman refunded the entire amount."

"I left a message yesterday about a washer machine that would not start. The young man from Quick n' Easy called in about 15 minutes and arrange for Nathan to visit our home around 1pm the next day. Established and fixed the problem in about 20 minutes. Nathan is very courteous and based on his suggestions knows a great deal about appliances. "I hired Yari based on positive Angie's List reviews.  Overall, I'd give him a luke warm rating, and MIGHT use him again, though would probably investigate some other options first.  The work done overall was good, however...

The clean-up was poor.  There was a LOT of small broken tile bits and dust left over after they replaced the kitchen tiles.  I have cats (as they saw), and they could have very easily tracked sharp small bits of broken tile on their paws from the loads of it left on the kitchen floor and in the grooves where the grout is.  When they repaired the broken stucco outside, they left dust and debris at the site and obviously threw the remaining water/plaster/mortar/whatever mix through a fence and into my neighbor's yard (am going to try and attach pix - I think I can do that here).  The price he quoted me was for parts and labor ASSUMING I had all those parts already.  I had to go myself with one of his workers to a nearby plumbing supply store to pick up needed items.

He was very responsive in person and by phone, and very cordial and prompt.  The work was decent enough.  I don't know enough about home repairs and contracting to know how fair the price was, but it seemed to be in the ballpark. 

Overall recommendation : Proceed, but with caution, and make sure you're clear from the outset what exactly your needs are and what exactly he's promising to provide.  And make sure they clean up properly before leaving."
