"Bob the installer was phenominal. A real craftsman. I know my old house was tricky because nothing is flat or square but he worked with it. As soon as he came into the house, I felt confident. He didn't waste time and worked constantly. It took him two days, did the subfloor the first day and laid the vinyl the second day, and the floor is lovely. I look at it every day and really love it. The only issue I have with Marshall is the sales person. Great making the sale, but after I purchased the flooring I had a few questions. He wouldn't call back and I had to keep calling or get answers from someone else at the company. But, with the end result, I am very pleased and have recommended them to everyone."

"After the remnants of Hurricane Sandy hit Cleveland, our finished basement was flooded. I looked at Home Depot, and some of the big name carpet places, but before I pulled the trigger on any of that I got a recommendation from my brother-in-law to check this place out. It is in midtown Cleveland, and it feels a bit more like a warehouse than a showroom, but there is a good reason for that. They don't spend a lot of money on advertising, a fancy showroom, or other frivolities, and you reap the benefits of that. The prices are terrific and the service is unbeatable. Josh Cohen worked with us, and he is the kind of guy you wish you could work with on every project. He was extremely helpful and gave honest answers, but never pressured us on anything we didn't want. After we went to the showroom and picked out the carpet, Josh came out to our house the next day and measured precisely. I believe we went in on a Friday, and it was installed by the next Wednesday, which was awesome. If I had bought at Home Depot I would have been waiting nearly a month. The guys who installed it were great; they have been one of Carpet Capitol's crews for something like 30 years they said. I have nothing but good things to say about the whole experience. What a great price for a whole basement of wall-to-wall carpeting. <br /> As a side note, Josh is a pretty talented artist. Not only does he run the main carpet business, he also creates rug art. A unique and extremely neat skill, he can create nearly anything you have in mind. I particularly enjoyed the Star Wars rug you see on his website, but that's just me. <br />"

"John and Brad arrived promptly, were extremely professional, attended to every detail. They protected the hard wood floors, walls, were considerate to keep my garage door only part way open. They pretreated high traffic areas, cleaned and protected where requested and raked the carpet to get a professional result. They kept me informed about the results of the carpet cleaning as they completed rooms.  I noticed that their equipment was much quieter than other companies I have used before. They worked around us in the background and got great results! <br />"

"After shopping at a different location for carpet we went into Quality Carpet. We learned more about carpet than we did at the previous location. Sales person was very helpful in finding carpet in our price point and in the materials that would work best for the room we were carpeting. Installation people we on time and very nice. Got the pad and carpet installed within 2 hours. This included moving 2 couches and a treadmill. <br />"

"The owner of the Carpet Stock Market agreed to install a piece of carpet that we had in our basement, even though we did not purchase the carpet from him. He and his son arrived promptly and worked quickly and efficiently to get the carpet in. We barely had enough to cover the floor and he figured out how to cut it just so so that it would fit perfectly. You could not see any seams, it looked perfect (and there was a pattern on the carpet that he matched up perfectly)! It was my son's 4th birthday that day and he took $5 out of his wallet to give to my son----so gracious and polite---I was very pregnant at the time and he wouldn't even let me bring him a glass of water because of my 'condition'! We also bought carpet for the stairs to match the basement carpet and we had the same wonderful experience. He is very hardworking, very knowledgeable, really knows how to work with carpet, and is a very kind man."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Ravenna, OH

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
