We barely had enough to cover the floor and he figured out how to cut it just so so that it would fit perfectly. You could not see any seams, it looked perfect (and there was a pattern on the carpet that he matched up perfectly)! We also bought carpet for the stairs to match the basement carpet and we had the same wonderful experience.
