"Always evaluate the quality of the carpet you need and the quality of the mill end you are purchasing from Karpet Korner. They carry different grades of carpet, and choosing wisely is key to a satisfactory experience with them. I did not have any previous experience with carpet when I first bought from them. However, you can tell a lot from the tufting and density of the fibers. <br />"

"We needed new draperies, were given some suggestions on Angie's List, but one was too far away, one did not answer her phone. We noticed that Wyanet Carpet now has draperies. A very personable designer came to our home, helped us choose the drapes, did all of the measuring and ordering. The order came in a little early; the designer and an installer came with new rods, completed the project flawlessly, as well as helping to repair the rods in another room. They were both very detail oriented. The price is within the range one should expect for custom, high quality draperies. We are very, very pleased."

"i do love my floors, i heard the commercial and it said someone will come to your home and help you select what best fits your needs, and thats why i choose l&p, because i wasnt sure, James came and did a walk through and measured and recommended luxury vinyl, i would have loved to have had some big fluffy mohawk carpet, but because i have an older dog that has accidents and had done alot of damage to my floors, carpet was not a good idea.frank helped me on color choice and what to expect. luxury vinyl was the best choice for me, they are so pretty and family and friends are trying to determine if its hard wood, before i made up my mind i took a scrap piece of the flooring and tried to scratch it with a fork it did not scratch, but i know in time any floor will eventually get scratched but its more durable than hard wood or laminate if you have pets. changed the whole look of my home, the workers were very professional and fast, also i was worried about this happening in a lived in house full of furniture, they moved all the heavy stuff, i only had to get my personal things off the floor and things on top of furniture, heres a tip for you, box it up lable it. put it back as they go room to room. i cant say enough about this company. i would 100 percent recommend <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Redbud, IL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
