"Excellent service from Chris at Britescape. My outdoor light repair was a bit of a challenge as it also included a water feature. Chris made sure everything was taken care of as promised. Highly recommend Britescape!"

"We didn't have working lights in a favorite room. McCarthy Electric were able to come out that day, troubleshoot the issue and fix the problem at the quoted price. The electrician was polite, respectful and competent. We will call them first if electricians are needed in our future."

"Nathan was a joy to work with. He was very helpful with ideas to iinstall new outdoor light fixtures and gave us different options to replace older patio motion sensors which we immediately ordered. He offered to return and install them in a timely fashion. I will definitely recommend Harts Services to my neighbors and friends."

"It was a big deal purchase and it was horrible.  They came out and said that they couldn't repair it.  They gave us an estimate for thousands of dollars to redo the lights and that wasn't something we were interested in.  It was like a ten minute consultation and it cost $49 and it was worthless to us."

"Kevin and his crew did a great job installing two retaining walls on our property. It transformed the space, which not only looks great but also solved the soil erosion problem we were having. The price was very reasonable, and they completed the job in only three days. I would definitely recommend them."

"Thanks to Alex and his crew of meticulous, hardworking, artistic tradesmen of Soil and Stone Landscape my wife and I how have a beautiful, spacious, and usable yard. The front porch, back stairs, back and side yards of our house are now covered with newly installed colorful pavers and drain rock which replaced the unsightly grass areas filled with weeds and brown dirt. The old and deteriorating wood fence on the back, side and front of the property was replaced with a strong, sturdy and wind resistant wood fence. All this work was performed expeditiously and with good judgement by Alex and his workers while we were away from our home. When we returned home, we were amazed with what we saw when we walked around our house and through the yard. It was a beautiful sight to behold! Thank you, Alex, you did an outstanding job!"

"Kris, the owner, was really friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful in setting it all up. The bid came in about $3,000 cheaper than from a well rated competitor. Ken and Sofi did the work in 1 1/2 days. They were prompt, professional, and friendly. They explained their work nicely. They worked well with the inspector and the line crew from Seattle City Light They cleaned up everything nicely. We are very happy with the work and hope to use Ion Electric again for a remodeling project."

"I found Sione (Jay construction) here on Angies list so i gave him a call based on the great reviews. I was happy I did! Sione came out right away and gave me a very competative estimate to replace my badly worn driveway with concrete, so we set a day the following week to start. Sione and his crew came and busted out the old driveway and prepped it for the concrete in hopes it could be poured the same day. The concrete was unable to be delivered that day so we made plans for a couple days later. The weather decided not to cooperate with our schedule so we had to delay it a couple more days. In the delay time, Sione and I had great communications as he kept me updated constantly. A few more days later the weather, and the concrete delivery were planned. In the meantime, its actually a good thing that we couldnt get the concrete truck the first day because we decided to adjust our plans. I have a patio the ajoins the driveway, however, the patio is a few inches thicker. We decided that it would be a good idea to raise the driveway to meet the patio so there is no more step down. This way wheelchair accessability would be no problem if needed in the future. This did increase the cost considerably, with how thick the concrete needed to be as well as the labor and other materials. Sione did lay rebar under the concrete for added strength. The concrete truck arrived and the new driveway was being poured. it was actually very exciting seeing it all take shape. We also redid the entrance to the driveway which required a permit and Sione took care of that too. I have to say that Sione and his crew are VERY hard workers, and do a great job.Everyone is so nice The clean up was fantasticly done. No mess was left.:) I am very happy I found these guys! I highly reccomend Sione and Jay construction.

FAQs for outdoor lighting plan and installation projects in Redmond, WA

Permit requirements for outdoor lighting vary depending on your location and project scope. Simple fixture replacements don't require permits, but projects involving new electrical circuits, extensive trenching, or significant system expansions often do. Local building departments establish these requirements, and many professional electricians handle permit applications as part of their service package.

The timeline for outdoor lighting installation varies based on project complexity. Basic systems might require only one to two days for complete installation, while extensive lighting networks with numerous fixtures and complex wiring needs could extend to a week or longer. Weather conditions, property accessibility, and soil characteristics can all influence how quickly professionals can complete your installation.

Outdoor lighting offers both practical and aesthetic benefits that many homeowners find valuable. Beyond enhancing nighttime visibility and security, well-designed lighting can highlight architectural features and extend outdoor living hours. While installation represents a significant investment, quality lighting may potentially increase property appeal and could contribute to overall home value.

Some outdoor lighting projects are suitable for homeowner installation, particularly simple solar fixtures or low-voltage systems that plug into existing outlets. However, projects requiring new electrical connections, permanent wiring, or integration with home electrical systems demand professional expertise. Electrical work carries inherent safety risks, and improper installation could create fire hazards or code violations.

The operating cost for outdoor lighting depends primarily on your fixture types, bulb selection, and usage patterns. Energy-efficient LED fixtures consume significantly less electricity than traditional incandescent or halogen alternatives. Controlling your lighting with timers, photocells, or motion sensors can further reduce energy usage by ensuring lights operate only when needed or beneficial.
