"Justine was professional, knowledgeable and timely; he got me the quote and arranged a crew very quickly. Justine was always available if there were questions and was the go-to person between workers and myself. My LVP flooring is beautiful, the demo and install done smoothly. The crews were such a team!! As always, my support of local business didn't let me down."

"All Hours Air installed a new heating system for us and they did a nice job of explaining our different options and getting everything installed quickly so that we didn't have much disruption to our house during the work. I would recommend them if you are in need of a new system or repairs their employees were nice to deal with and their pricing was reasonable."

"We needed a new water heater so we called Art's Plumbing. They came out promptly, gave us an estimated price and within a few hours we had a new water heater. The plumber was courteous, did a good job, cleaned up after the job and hauled away the old water heater. While he was there we discussed putting in a gas line for a fire pit in the backyard and came back a few days later on the day that was scheduled to install the gas line. While he was putting in the gas line he suggested we put in an extra line for the barbecue which we did. The two plumbers were very helpful, did a great job and charged us the amount they quoted us, which I thought was very reasonable. I would use them again for any plumbing needs that I have."

"Everything went great!  The workers took great care in covering everything in plastic in the master bedroom so there was no dust or debris left from the demo portion. There was one tiny little hiccup where there was a small very unoticeable amount of damage done to the side of the tub during install they were able to fix it so you couldn't see it and still discounted the price of the tub. Jason the owner came by multiple times during the 2 days the crew was there to personally check on the job and make sure it was going well. I won't go to anyone else for my plumbing needs. <br />"

"From start to finish the team at Legends met the mark on everything from the initial visit to the beautiful rendering to working with my HOA everything was professional and considerate. We removed our front lawn and were very happy with the xeriscape design we're glad we went that direction. Once the work started the team that worked for over a week to tear down old shrubs, plant the many trees and bushes to the installation of the side walk pavers did a great job and were respectful of our property as well as our neighbors ensuring they left a great impression of us all. I highly recommend Legends Landscaping if you want reliability and quality. Thank you to all of those at Legends Landscaping. Bill & Denise Curry"

"Jeff and his crew were responsive, professional and punctual. Jeff helped me choose pavers that go great with the house. He added lights as an added project. The driveway demolition went well with great clean up. Jeff listened and addressed my concerns about the drainage of water under the driveway. The pavers have been installed since June 2017 and look great. They have not shifted as I feared with the clay soil. I would recommend Jeff and his crew for any paver installation project."

"the experience was fantastic. After weeks of remodeling, things can get stressful. The owner and his apprentice arrived when expected, were professional and polite, made sure the work they did was done to perfection and left the area clean! <br />They hooked up the new sinks and faucets and noted that the valves were old and needed replacing because of leaks. They had to make several trips to finish projects around the granite install. They removed the existing tub valve and installed the new valve once the tile was removed so the granite wall could be installed. <br />I strongly recommend this company ( soon to be called Dirty Plumber) and have plans to use them in the future. <br />"

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Reno, NV

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
