"We received an estimate for excavating at the point of the break and replacing about 4 feet of sewer line.  They discovered that the house had settled and a direct reconnection would result in insufficient downward slope to the city sewer line in the street.  They e-mailed us an estimate of the additional cost with an itemization of the additional work to be done.  It required still more excavation to successfully connect the line, but again they gave us an itemization of the work and estimate of the additional cost.  The crew worked hard and long hours to complete the job -- always polite and friendly.  Overall we were very pleased with their professionalism and willingness to proceed with the project in increments rather than give a very high estimate just to be sure to cover their costs.

He reminded me that these instances are why home owners have insurance. So a PROFESSIONAL took over and quickly went to work with a very knowlegable and friendly crew. "Sound Pumbing did an A+ job. What I initially thought was only a small water leak led to discovery of a broken sump pump which led to discovery of incorrect piping from the pump to the yard. Donald Button was great! Friendly, professional and worked hard replacing pipe outside in a crazy rainstorm, cheerfully even. He fixed all 3 of my problems and everything is running smoothly now. "i didn't hire directly.  they came via a home insurance company referral to look at a problem.
they were solid.  liked the guy who came out.  he tried his best to get our water heater replaced by the water heater company, but ultimately they would only pay for a replacement, at which point i cut my losses and hired someone else - b/c the water heater was 19 years old and it would have been a temporary fix.
